During nesting season the island and some distance from shore is blocked off to people. I know in many places Eagles have made a comeback but this is the first for this lake. They have been nesting there the last couple of years. Nice to see them on the rebound and off of any endangered species list.

Late January and most of February We can count at least 12 or more sitting in trees by the lake waiting to pick off ducks whenever they decide they need to eat. Either that or they are in the fields eating the dead calves some farmers put out in the winter. The first Eagle I saw was when I was a mere little boy of maybe fifteen.......They were rare as hens teeth back then but they are not rare nor should they be considered endangered anymore. Around here cats shiver with fear and small dogs are afraid to travel alone.....
 Awards
