I told him it is was ok but we understand your concerns.I think I figured out my issues with loading the mother board drivers and while I did Dark Asylum said he will send me a copy of windows 7 do use instead of XP pro.

yes have the current drivers for OS note is your MB 64 bit or 32 bit so match it up , and hit F6 and load OS drivers from disk/usb

If it's a decently newer system, then windows 7 will find all drivers for you most of the time.

In about 4 or 5 installs, all on different systems, win7 took care of all drivers, all I had to get was video drivers.

I am not sure what MB it is but it is a quad core and is an asus M4A785-M. My problem was I was using a old asus disc and thought it was the current MB's driver. Once I figured out my error everything went smooth and soon I will attempt to load Windows 7 but right now my XP is running fine with no issues. Looks like my old HD was corrupted or something. No more shut downs and all malware and virus scams run just fine now. thanks everyone

while waiting for w7 disk can update bios and make a current CORRECT (OS bit) drivers disk for your new install

 

i see for the MB M4A785-M BIOS 1006 is curent
