It used to be that my ping would always average about 300, no fluctuation, no visible skipping on my end and constant 125 frames all the time. Now lately my ping all over the place, and im starting to notice it visually but still no drop in frames. It's really starting to piss me off and my gaming time is at an all time low because as soon as it starts playing up i shut the game down so i don't ruin it for others. I have pinged the server on command prompt and get an average of 280 constant, but as soon as i boot the game and join a server i get 270-900 (yes that much of a difference!) its seems like i rarely ever get a day when it will sit normal for me. - I have no downloads going - I have shut unnesasary programs down - I have updated PB - I deleted the game and re installed and re patched - I have tried running the game with my anti virus and firewall off - I have tried consol commands like max packets, packet dup etc etc - I have tried lowering my graphics, screen res etc etc None of this changes anything. I don't understand why just recently i'm having all this drama. I don't understand how when i ping the server its constant and at normal levels for me yet when i go in game it gets all crazy. I know the ping will increase slightly when in game because of the extra data getting sent and recieved, but it shouldnt be all over the place like it is. Does anyone know what the hell's going on or have any suggestions? My Hardware: CPU : i7-3770K Quad core @ 4.2Ghz Mobo: MSI Z77A-GD55 Ivy Bridge Mem: 16GB DDR3 RipJaws @ 1333mhz Storage: 128GB SSD (OS+Programs/files) and 2TB HDD (Random mass storage) GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 (not a massive card i know but more than enough for cod4) No heat issues the CPU is liquid cooled, my CoolerMaster storm case has decent fans to keep the GPU and Mobo sorted. All of my drivers are up to date, im running Win 7 home pro. Just to remind i have played with this setup and no drama, only lately its a prob. Pinging server out of game is good. Sometimes when it happens ill go play a random server but does it in them aswell. Played server 2 tonight for about 5 mins and was hitting 900 before i gave up. Its crazy. Im lloking for another place to live in the hope i can get a better connection. Failing that ill move back to New Zealand, i get way better ping there haha.
