That's right! After years of dodging the bullet I finally got hit.

Thankfully it was just some adware which MBAM and Ccleaner can totally clean up.   :)

It kind of piss's me off though because I just reinstalled windows on my computer about a month ago. It was so clean :(

I've been using adblock but now I"m also going to use no-script ;)

What I got hit with:

Spigot inc     (a search protection... aka takes over any search engine you go to)

GS.enabler  (I think this was what was linking random text on pages to ads)

greatdeals    (putting ads all over every web page I went to... also installed 6 extensions to my browser)

P.S.  what no-script extensions for chrome do you guys recommend?

I use, AdBlock Plus, Ghostery and DoNotTrack. Alter your Hosts file too and use this page in there: http://someonewhocares.org/hosts/ or a tool which is harder: HostsMan.

Besides that : Sophos Virus Removal Tool is a great deeper scanner. MSE, Spybot - Search & Destroy, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and CCleaner.

Our website with Ghosery protection:
