Suddenly, over the past seven months, I have dealt with chronic kidney disease which very quuickly cost me permanent loss of seventy to eighty percent of my kidney function but which has now stabilized; multiple myeloma, an incurable cancer of plasma cells which turned out to be in a precursor stage not expected to advance to malignancy; toxoplasmosis, which cost me about 20 percent vision in my left eye; pleurisy; insomnia; a three-month issue with plantar fasciitis which took me off my treadmill; and now, sixth-nerve palsy, which caused double vision to the point I couldn't drive, but has now improved after a brain MRI found no tumors. Lots of folks have much more serious issues to deal with every day, and believe you me I am counting my blessings. But having been visited by seven plagues in as many months, I am hoping that whatever lesser deity I apparently pissed off last year is now done with me, and will leave me the hell alone for a bit. I've been offered prayers and encouragement over this period and I thank all of you for that. You know, we are always wishing others well in some crisis in their lives but until or unless you've been on the other side of that door, you don't really know how much that means. It is a big psychological hit too, it takes some time getting used to the fact we can't be like we used to be, All you can do is do whatever suits you, you will find your happy median of what you can and can't do. It is all up to you, life will be as happy or as miserable as you make it. Good luck, it can be a real mental trip. Noears711XI 1 Awards
