There's a large red-tail hawk that's been soaring over my office and in an area in the surrounding few km around it. I was driving home one evening and caught it on a wire. It was a bit shy and wouldn't look at me. It flew away when it noticed me. I have my eye out for it as I'm driving and hope to get a really good shot of it soon.

I've used LensPens for over a decade with my astronomy eyepieces, and I have a full kit for the camera. Love them. The hand-strap looks great, and I could use the portable battery charger. I have 2200mAh and 5200mAh chargers, and the beastie in the article just spanks them almost 3x combined.

I'm still learning how to make time-lapses that are cool... I watched the sun rise with my gf in Wildcat Canyon a couple days ago.

Right as the sun was coming over the ridge I was like, "huh, I should prolly go check the exposure..."    lol. Fail.

I changed it from 1/15-3.5f  to  1/100-22f.  Next time I'll check more often or something.  Maybe polarized lens caps?

Failing with a digital camera isn't really failing. When I first got into photography in the late 70's fails cost money, and continued to until digital came around in the 90's.  I still have boxes full of pictures that were nothing but experiments, but there were just enough successes to keep me going. I used to love taking my 35mm out and doing timed and multiple exposures with a tri-pod.

Sunrise is difficult to capture perfectly without some experimenting. Yes you overexposed but it still is a cool little video.

Watch the sky over the next couple of evenings at sunset. These partially cloudy skies we'll have over the next 2-3 days might produce some outstanding sunsets if you time it right. Of course that means a trip someplace high or near the coast.

I'm on the top floor of my apt complex (4th)... if the roof wasn't so steep, I'd throw a rope up and climb up there :)

Time lapse has always been a favorite of mine also, when its done right it can be spectacular.

There are many subjects that do well with time lapse with nature providing the most. Digital has opened the door to even the most uneducated to be able to shoot a good time lapse. In the future I'm gonna start packing a camera more often.

Too many times I have said "damn that would be a great shot if I had my camera"

@@eidolonFIRE  that video isn't all that bad from 0.13 to 0.18 it looks like a nuclear explosion on the horizon . . . i guess if you use your imagination you could see a lot of things . . lol

Thanks for sharing!

The white spots in the image isn't dust. Every Summer for a week or two the sky gets filled with some sort of floating seeds from a type of tree. It almost looks like snow some days

My daughter took this pic 16 years ago of our cat (the cat is still alive and doing well)

She was experimenting with taking black and white pictures.

This a panorama shot I took with Samsung phone at the ranch I work at.

I thought it came out surprisingly good  . . . . Phones have some pretty good cameras built in nowadays
