I am a LEGAL immigrant from the UK. My wife is a LEGAL immigrant from Mexico. We both say throw all the LAWBREAKERS back over the Rio Grande, preferably in body bags. We spent months (years, actually) and tons of money coming here legally and get really angry over these assholes who get mad because we expect them to respect the laws of this great nation. That's why they call them ILLEGAL immigrants - oh wait, the politically correct term is "undocumented alien" (guess that makes it ok)

The funny thing is Mexico's immigration rules for people coming up through Central America (Nicauragua, etc) are 1000 times more strict than ours are, so I always have a good bitter laugh when I hear the Mexican president complaining because we try to catch these fucking lawbreakers

I am first generation American with both my parents as immigrants, not that it really means anything except that my parents received their citizenship the hard way..............they earned it. My Father came through Ellis Island and my Mother was sponsored by her older sister who was already here.........also via Ellis Island.

 

As a son of immigrants I strongly support racial profiling as an excellent tool for law enforcement. For those who are checked because of their ethniticity...............get over it.

 

Border Patrol, TSA, and any law enforcement agency should be able to use racial profiling simply because of the likelyhood of various ethnic cultures having a high probability of being illegal or a threat to our security.

 

Can the sensitivity and do whats best to comply with our laws and protect ourselves.

Hi just to put my 2 cents in I am from New York where we have all kinds of undocumented immigrants we have Irish, Russian, Albanina, and plenty more white skin undocumented people, but the ones who will be targeted will only be people of darker skin that is what makes the law bad if there was a way for them to target all undocumented immigrants then by all means it should be done. i hate imigration laws as its not natural to me, for centuries people migrated all over the globe without problems, but this century, it cause us a problem.

and if i take some examples around me, it really scare me.

see, belgium had that beautiful african country called belgian congo (then called zaïre and now democratic republic of congo), we took this country lot of ressources, lots of gold, on the other hand we also help that country with goods they never had before, but yea, when u look at all the money we make with that country, and that now some people that i would consider as my family dont have papers and were almost rapatriated, it really piss me off.

if jesus was never able to get papers to travel like he did, maybe there even wont be churches on this planet.

Of course we should profile, at airports, for instance. Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims so why the hell are we strip-searching grandma?

 

As to the illegal immigrant problem, there's an easy and relatively inexpensive fix. Issue biometric ID cards to all U.S. citizens - include your driver's license info on it as well. Without one, you cannot fly, interact with a bank, obtain employment, secure medical, educational or any other gov't services, buy a house, rent, etc. etc. At the same time, make it a felony for anyone to offer such services or otherwise engage anyone who does not possess such a card. Unable to work or function in this country, illegal immigrants will migrate back to where they came from - we don't even have to round them up and put them on buses, etc.

 

This also will create huge employment opportunities for out-of-work Americans. Employers will be forced to pay a living wage to Americans, instead of off-the-clock, below-min. wage to illegals, or (as they should) go out of business. This bullshit about illegals doing jobs American's won't is true only because Americans won't pick cabbage for $2 an hour. But they sure as hell will for $10 an hour.

Back on topic; I don't care if the country becomes 60% hipanic 30%black  and 10% white or what ever the F..K. For all people are created equal and have the same value period  anywhere in the world, its how they conduct they life after birth that makes a difference. Its not about color it not about race its about following the law and thats all its about to me, period....... The rule of law and constitution is just one of the most important foundations of this great country.

 

To make it simple and sweet, it comes down to this very very simple little concept:

 

So you either for selective law enforcement meaning only the laws that you agree with should be enforced or you believe in the rule of law and it indiscrimenate compliance without discrimination and will work within the system to have a law changed through a democratic process when you believe in a need.

 

Which brings us back the that little silly concept that being the, "RULE OF LAW", which is the cornerstone of every great civilized people/country. So if you think "RULE OF LAW" is not nesessary, I personally hope you get the F..K out of America and moved to another country were you will fit it better and you can contribute your beliefs to theirs in the process you will be doing all us in America a very big favor.  Or you can be work within the system to educate, communicate and help implement changes to modify laws that you feel can be improved, removed  or added to make this a better country or even more important than anything,,,!  know the issues and vote not once but everytime. And then you will be a true American and not a spineless piece of shit....

 

Heck move in with CHKN in Belgium where maybe emotions and feelings matter more than law and you would could add to their culture and you could statisically improve the ratio of good citizins in our country, a WIN WIN for everybody.

I really think that controlling immigration is something necessary nowaydays the matter is how can we do that and how far can we go to do that.SgtHarryWeezer has some good ideas and it can solve a part of the problem but not everything we have all of what you speak about here in France and trust me there's still some illegal immigration problems...

I think that helping poor people in their own country(i mean helping them to develop their country) would be more efficient and finally less costly .

Now how far can we go to to control illegal immigration and can we go as far as what they do now in Arizona ?

But your labeling the Arizona law as racist... "controlling people because of their appearance; the color of their skins; because they speak Spanish..." is absurd. It is nothing of the sort. Please do the research before you post such nonsence.

Essentially, it says Arizona police, when otherwise legally engaged with someone (as through a traffic stop for instance) may then ascertain if the person is illegal. How do they do that? They ask for identification - just as they ask any citizen for ID in a traffic stop. If the person doesn't have it, or, it appears bogus, they'll check further - just as they would for any American citizen. That's it. OK?

Your comparison to Nazi Germany is ridiculous. I'm also a student of history. Tell me how an American state enforcing laws already on the books has anything to do with persecution of Jews in a previous century. Arizona is taking this action because the federal government won't enforce those existing laws. Why? Purely for political reasons - to buy votes.

Let's hope Texas follows suit, and then New Mexico, etc.

And a PS for CHKN: Americans clearly understand where they come from and most certainly we have the right to "stop and control" people who sneak into our country and saddle our taxpayers with the expense of educating their children and pay for their health care, even as they take jobs away from us while failing to pay back into the system through payroll taxes.
