Can't connect to COD2 DM server.

Logan, please refrain from using statements that involve polishing butts. -
It just goes to show you that without the consent of the governed, the government has no power. We should all refuse to pay our taxes for a month, then you'll see some real progress in Washington.

Yep they're all doing it now. Google, facebook, cell phone carriers, they all want to do away with what most people love about the internet. PRIVACY. Facebook just dropped the privacy features so anybody can search on you like it or not. Fortunately I never had much of a presence on FB so i don't care. But people who want to be there and don't want certain people to find them are shit out of luck. Google is just looking to increase their stock value by being able to target market a few billion more people that don't want to be marketed to.

Sorry Vampire but we have those rules in place for a reason and the moment you typed it the server autobanned you. That is why we post warnings when you join and that pop up very frequently during game play. I'm afraid that we have zero tolerance for racial slurs and the ban won't be lifted.

Who does Pete have to blow to get a password and our admin status reinstated on teamspeak?

All of the Canadians got tired of getting their asses kicked so they all rage quit at once.

Some of you are missing the point. It's about being completely oblivious to the "real" world around you. It's like standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon and ignoring the real view in front of you to see pictures of it on your smart phone, and texting/tweeting about it instead of enjoying what for most is a once in a lifetime experience. I don't deny that there are many benefits to all of this technology, but I refuse to let it completely change my perception of the real world, only enhance it. I would much rather talk to a person face to face or on the phone than to text them. And forget tweeting. Every time I hear the word "hashtag" I want to puke.

Misc: Nice Job USA; Solar Station Active
little_old_man replied to X-RayXI's topic in Jokes and Misc stuff
I "think" you're being serious posting this even though it's in the jokes forum. While I completely agree that we need alternatives for electricity that are far away from coal and oil, I don't think this type of power plant is the answer. The solar plant cost over 2 billion to build and only generates around 200 MW of power, or enough to light up 70,000 homes. That's over $28,000 per home. Hoover dam would cost less than a billion to build today, and generates over 2,000 MW of power, or power for 700,000 homes. We need more alternatives, like giant cattle farms to harvest their farts. -
Congratulations to you both. Marriage is hard and a lot of work. My wife and I hit some rough spots between 10 and 14 years, we even separated a couple times, but we just had our 24th anniversary and our marriage is stronger than ever. Keep up the great work!

My wife and I were at this show, second row right in front of Clapton. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SATJOUNwYrQ My very first concert when I was 15 was at Winterland in San Francisco watching Peter Frampton. Parts of that show were used on his Frampton Comes Alive album. Numerous shows in my 20's including Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Boston, Lynard Skinard, etc.

Ever since Window and I have been admins (a year ago July) we have wanted to plan a tournament for the TDM server. Last year we just didn't have the time, so we want to try and do it this year before the holidays, maybe mid-November. I guess the last one was 3 or 4 years ago. I can't seem to remember it or playing in it so I don't know how things were done, but from what Window and Bullet tell me there were a few maps chosen for the tourney and teams of 3 people with alternates. I understand Noddy organized the last one, but perhaps some of you that are still with us can remember enough of the specifics so we can put it all together again. Please offer up any suggestions here for how to get the server set up, map rotations, teams, and who we need to talk to in order to make this happen. Window and I also discussed whether it would be better to have pre-determined teams, or simply have a way to keep track of individual stats to determine a winner (XLR Stats?) and use our TDM server in its current configuration. Bullet tells me that he and Newf won the last tourney so we'll have to see if we can make sure that doesn't happen again. Thanks, LOM

Window and I were discussing a TDM tourney just last night and I am going to make a post about it as soon as I finish typing this. Actually the servers have been doing pretty well lately, but you have to know what times to be there. They aren't full all of the time like some of the other servers, but late afternoon and evenings (US time zones) on the DM server, and weekend mornings on the TDM server generally have pretty good crowds. Most of us who play the most on the COD2 servers tend to be older professionals with families and jobs compared to a much younger crowd on the other game servers, so being on 24/7 isn't really an option for most of us. We also recently did away with the voting system on the DM server because it simply wasn't working for the majority of the players. We will be adding additional maps to the DM rotation and hopefully updating the maps on the TDM server very soon.

We'll just use chemical weapons against the British. As we all know they won't do anything about it. -
COD2 PARTY TDM/CTF 9/28 9/30

So tell me, why is it that norm1980 and Mikeyboy1970 have several posts that appear at exactly the same time? Is norm and Mikey the same person with two handles and trying to get their post count up? -
I live in California, a state that is considered ground zero for gun hating liberals. I have a well stocked gun cabinet with lots of ammo, know how to fish local waters very well and where to hunt for game. I keep a portable reverse osmosis filtration system with a manual hand pump in my garage in case we have a big earthquake, and can literally turn sea water into drinkable water within a few minutes. I grew up in the 60's and 70's without cell phones and the internet. Losing them would practically be a fucking blessing. I would miss XI, but that's about it. I'm not worried for my family. The nerdy little progressive techies will go completely insane within 2 days without their social media toys then die from hunger and thirst within a couple weeks.

http://news.msn.com/crime-justice/commuters-on-phones-didnt-notice-gun-during-robbery SAN FRANCISCO — A man flashed a gun several times on a crowded commuter train in San Francisco, but passengers were so absorbed in their phones and tablets they didn't notice until he randomly shot and killed a university student, authorities said. Security video footage showed the gunman pull out the .45-caliber pistol, raise it and point it across the aisle before putting it back against his side, authorities told the San Francisco Chronicle in a story on Monday. The man drew the gun several more times and once wiped his nose with the hand holding the weapon. "These weren't concealed movements — the gun is very clear," District Attorney George Gascon said. "These people are in very close proximity with him, and nobody sees this. They're just so engrossed, texting and reading and whatnot. They're completely oblivious of their surroundings." Authorities declined a request by The Associated Press for the surveillance footage, citing an ongoing investigation. San Francisco police officials say people who pay too much attention to digital technology are also vulnerable to theft. "Oftentimes when you interview people who get their phones stolen, when you ask them to describe where the person came from, what he was wearing, they have no idea," said police Chief Greg Suhr. Nikhom Thephakaysone, 30, has pleaded not guilty to charges including murder in the Sept. 23 attack on Justin Valdez, 20, a student at San Francisco State University who was shot in the back of the head as he left the train. Thephakaysone also has been charged with assault with a semi-automatic handgun. Prosecutors said he stuck a handgun in another man's back earlier the same night he shot Valdez as he looked for a victim. He did not pull the trigger and went on the hunt again for a victim for more than an hour, at one point waving a gun outside a Thai restaurant, Assistant District Attorney Scot Clark has said. He was also charged with illegally possessing an assault weapon after police said they seized two such rifles, combat knives and razors at his home. Police said he was carrying $20,000 in cash when he was arrested.
