Thanks all. It's not just what this is going to do to my back. But harder still, for me anyway, is to have to spend that amount of time with no way to occupy my mind. I just can't stand that. I always carry a book in my car if I have to wait until the wife gets out of Wal-Mart, or take my Nook anyplace like a doctor's office where I have to wait. They should put a TV screen in those things. I suppose I could take a book in but without my glasses I couldn't read it. Anyway, last look about six years ago found three severely deteriorated discs in the cervical spine, a compression fracture from a car accident in the thorasic, and a herniated disc in the lumbar. This MRI is to determine current state of things and what can be done to fix the mess my back's in before I get too old to get it fixed. You'd think by now that they could simply replace the entire spine with a nice stainless steel affair.

I'm thinking a half-bottle of Jack one hour before should take care of it. (Can you jerk off while you're in there?)
