  1. If there's no limit on club memberships and you feel like you're missing out on some of the conversation, then join them all. PS: Somebody stole all my medals.
  2. A cruise is a good idea and more affordable that you might think. They start at around $50 per person a day, so you and the spouse could do a 3-day Caribbean cruise for less than $400, which includes meals, port charges and some shipboard activities. The added expense would be getting to the ship. But I like New Orleans. We've been down three times and the Quarter is MADE for Idiots - bar after bar with some of the best music you've heard and food you've ever eaten. And even if it's not Mardi Gras, you'll likely see titties flopping along Royal Street. Coffee and beignets at Café du Monde should be on everyone's bucket list. And there's the voodoo museum, the cool cemeteries and a quick trip on the steamboat Natchez.
  3. Very glad your XI training kicked in and you dodged that bullet P-man. Take care!
  4. Good point. Might first want to decide when, then where.
  5. Will be looking for you Thursday evening.
  6. You'll beat this Hogan. You can live a long time with treatment and you can be cured of it. Look forward to meeting you.
  7. Hope you folks in the path and families are safe.
  8. No. Standard homeowners policies don't cover flooding unless it's caused by a broken pipe or leaky roof. You have to have flood insurance through FEMA and most don't have it. They're screwed.
  9. Happy Birthday Ducky
  10. Brother's in SE Houston (LaPorte) and he's been spared the flooding. But he has a more serious problem. He's out of bacon and can't get to any stores to get any.
  11. Quit three years ago after more than 50 years of it. Tried everything until I came up with my own scheme. First, quit smoking in the house and car. Then, quit smoking for convenience (that after breakfast coffee cigarette) and only smoked when I really needed to. That cut my smoking 50 percent. Then, I began to smoke only half a cigarette and butt it. Next time, I would pick up that butt and finish it. That cut smoking 50 percent. After about two months of that, I began to smoke only a third of a cigarette. Did that for about a month until Christmas Eve 2014 when I said that's it. And it was. I know that just like an alcoholic, I'll be back to the habit if I smoke just one cigarette. As with Toes, I did a lot of damage to my lungs, especially my left lung. I suspect I have COPD and am having tests down later this fall. The sooner you get off the damned things, the better - and longer - your life will be.
  12. Incredible Pete. Also looking forward to the Basilica of Notre Dame at Montreal my next visit. Had family baptized there.
  13. We went to ground zero at Clemson, SC. Couldn't hold the camera steady...
