  2. The best that can be said is that the market is due for a correction. Asking a bunch of Idiots, much less actual experts to predict the timing of something that nobody can is well... beyond idiotic.
  3. Stock market, long term, out performs most any other investment vehicle. Mistake people make is pulling their money when things turn down. Just invest in good stocks & leave the money alone. A classic book on the subject, which I read many years ago is by Princeton economist Burton Malkiel: A Random Walk Down Wall Street. The premise of the book, supported by facts is that a monkey could throw darts at the stock page, invest in those stocks long-term & outperform most professional investment management firms. Quite a stark proof of his theory. So, invest in stocks & hold on to them long-term. The book: https://amzn.to/3ataLX3
  4. Saw that recipe today, as a matter of fact, since I have dough & marinated meat left over. Just gotta get to the store to buy more White American. I've got Sharp Cheddar, Mozzarella, Pepperjack, Colby Jack, Swiss, Queso...but outta the White American. As a side note, I can't believe they put frickin' Cheese Wiz on Philly sammiches in Philly. Sounds absolutely gross.
  5. Betty Grable was born after the end of the 19th Century, so couldn't have been famous during it. She was famous in the 20th century for her legs as a pinup girl during WWII, not her eyes. Bette Davis, however was known for her eyes.
  6. Let the sirloin marinate & the dough develop in the fridge for 2 days. The dough was punched down & risen about 5 times over that time. Was very good. Will post video if anyone wishes, but I'm not editing it.
  7. Heynow! Ready for the fun!
  8. First time watching, back in the day, I was like: 'You can do all that? Are you Allowed to do that?' Fukking next-level.
  9. Neva!! It's what gives the server panache! Plenty of room for civilized people in the FT1 server.

  11. This really hurts; may have to make a separate post.

  14. Capital One has a nice feature where they produce a dedicated virtual number that can only be used for that particular vendor where you make a purchase. Protects your real card number & prevents the virtual number from being used anywhere else.
  15. Had it happen to me; someone charged up a couple hunnit @ some Chinese grocery store in Los Angeles. Card company informed me, then told me to continue making payments while they investigate it; & that if the charges weren't mine, they would refund me. Told them to go pound sand & asked why they'd even suggest I pay on a debt that's not mine. Their only response was that I wasn't obligated to make the payments. Shady fukkers.
  16. I'm sorry, buddy; that's tough. Have cared for a family member as their cognition was eroded by dementia.
  17. Nascent Idiocy. Classic prodrome.

  21. Heynow!
  22. I see how it is: Oooh! Look how wonderful this is! What's that? How do you make it? What's it like to want? Not feelin' the love.
  23. It's actually cheaper to make your own food than eating prepared food. Especially if you buy in bulk & freeze extra portions for later days. Many things keep really well in the freezer for months, like chili, lasagna, pizza dough, breads, muffins, sauteed mushrooms & onions, stock from beef or chicken. That & cooking is enjoyable. It's nice to walk into a kitchen & know you can make many good eats from memory. Started cooking for myself when I was about 7 or 8, as my parents worked many hours. The Fanny Farmer Cookbook was my first serious foray into cooking at about the age of 12. Having accumulated a working familiarity with cooking for 4 or 5 years, it was a fun progression to organize & develop my nascent skills. Even got into confections, desserts, breads, pastas, pastries, sauces. It's really ridiculously easy to make an excellent chicken noodle soup, ribs, lasagna, chili, cheesecake, bread, that's better than just about anything you can buy, & for cheaper.
