Many professional gamers can tell if their FPS is dropping below 150-200fps. The misconception is that they can tell because of the shuttering or flickering...
From what I've heard it has more to do with noticing the latency and "trails" of the image.
It's all a pointless comparison, though, since an LCD screen and our eyes work so radically different. Apples'n'oranges I say lol.
Here's an interesting video I saw a while back. I love the way this guy presents information so organized and clear.
I think the most interesting part is how much of what we see is simply created in "image processing" in our brain. Truly fascinating.
The irony is that with digital cameras you want LESS processing and more RAW DATA to provide a better image. (the more raw data the camera handles... the more expensive and professional it is)
