Hi all. A question for those that have been around long enough to know. Meaning several years. I dont have it anymore, or where, but before I took over the mod (way back, probably 1.2 - 1.3 assuming it even had a number back then) what player weapons and streaks did it have? I am curious which models the mod had. Map compatibility problems are often due to memory limitations in the game. Not the same as how many gb a computer has. The biggest contributor to that is how complex each individual player weapon is. So that means the nicer looking the weapon is the higher the polygon count. Which in turns counts towards the maximum the game will handle before memory alloc errors. I do have the info for how many materials and models the old mod had, tho not what they were, compared the current one. For the actual number of models and materials this one is better. But they are most definitely better models.

If they do full mod tools... which I know they wont... it will be a great game. That is because it will allow us to make things better. Including things they didnt get right. Otherwise it will suck.

Thanks everyone. Much appreciated. I tend do get a wee bit melancholy on birthdays. And in the evening drink at least at least 3 glasses of good cab. One more year closer to death.

Mod updated to fix some bugs. The ones players would notice: laser glow reduced so it wont flare so much. Stow on back works for all launchers and the crossbow not just the rpg. Venom no longer works for the M32. I dont think I posted, but played the mod with a few people on the main server late one evening. Just the problems above. So soon---ish, the main server will be switched over now and then to work out any remaining kinks. No, that doesnt mean the mod is kinky. Just that there are always little issues to take care of.

Ok guys progress report. The mod was in the main server and a few of us played it for about an hour and a 1/2. Ftag and tdm. Not many problems. The laser glow was too bright. Will fix that. No CI's or anything like that. Also a couple reported they had black and white screens. Im not sure about that. Couldnt test many streaks because by the time we got tdm on too many people werent interested in testing and kept shooting those of us that were. So, next time. Venom was working with M32 rounds. Shouldnt be and will fix. The uav 'piggyback' for Hardwired seems to work as expected. To describe again how that works. If you have that perk, and the enemy puts up a UAV, you will see red dots when they fire non-silenced weapons. But you will not get the green line 'sweep'. So remember. When you put up UAV if an enemy has that perk he (only) will see you when you fire your weapons. Nice perk addition I think. Server set back to noacr mod and after I get the fixes online will test them.

As they say size doesnt matter, depending on how many friends you have over to enjoy it. And of course if you keep it nice and clean. People dont enjoy messy decks with lots of clutter.

Ok played the mod with a few people and one minor script error. Also, seems the laser beam is always on for side arms. It shouldnt do that. Even tho I like it. I could probably make it an attachment option in the future separate from primaries.

Is there any other mic setting someplace related to cod4 and usb? It works great for everything except cod4 even with the mic setting turned all the way up. I dont see any application specific settings in the sound control panels.

Just want to post that I know that occasionally some file might try to download again. I have seen it with newly uploaded mod files. Dont know why. But if it does then /disconnect from the server. Then go to the mod folder. If you see the full download of the file and a tmp version of it delete the tmp file.

Nope. Still getting laser cvar check issues. So, offline for a bit. edit: up again. Didnt get any cvar warnings so I assume that means all is good.

Ok guys and dolls. 1.46 beta 5 is online at the test server. Havent played it there yet. Currently downloading from the redirect to make sure that works ok. Same map rotation until it gets switched over to a Windows server from Linux. But our admins have much greater priorities to finish. A brief changelog from beta 4 for the most significant stuff. The usual bug fixes. *Hopefully* they are all taken care of but I am sure I missed some. SC2010 animations redone by mitsurgi. All looks to be good. Laser attachment for all non-sniper weapons. Also for Duke, deathmachine, warmachine. Note: PB cvar checks were kicking players for the laser. Hopefully that should be taken care of. If not tell me. Moved Hacker to tier 2. So possible to get that and Steath so as to hack sentryguns and mines. Body armor separated into two types: Ballistic Vest: Operates like Body Armor, meaning limited damage points, but only protects against bullet weapons. No explosives protection. Flak Jacket: Protection against all explosives. Unlike Ballistic Vest it doesnt degenerate. Simple percentage reduction of damage. Currently -%40. Tier 1 perk: Venom. Pretty simple. All primary/secondary rounds are laced with poison. Victims do not regenerate health and also slowly lose it. To heal use a medkit. Or, if no medkits, call a Medic (see below). If no medkits use the 'heal' key will call one. Tier 3 perk: Medic. Heal all friendlies. Large supply of medkits. Faster regen. Immune to Venom and Radiation. Hardwired change. No radiation protection (moved to Medic). However, added is the ability to 'piggyback' onto enemy UAV's. You will get the minimap but enemies will only show up as pings if they fire non-silenced weapons. Not arrows and no 'sweep' effect. Currently shows friendlies (I think) but that might be removed. No perk icons and descriptions on spawn (middle right of screen). Instead the icons have been added at the bottom with the rest of the loadout. It is assumed you already know what you've got and the icons are a reminder. Helps remove some little used hud elements. There are other small tweaks. Such as if you die too close to a care package, sentrygun or others you will not drop a weapon. So hopefully there should be none of the weapon-pickup problems when trying to secure a package or hack a turret. Cannot do the same for frozen players or nobody would drop a weapon. Venom sounds a little weak compared to other tier 1 perks and still looking into how it works.

Is there a 'video game' style icon that is kind of the opposite of the sonic boom one with Mario and the bomb? It needs to be simple so it still looks good when small. Need something for the flak jacket. I have a few images of those but they dont look good when shrunk down. One thing I have been considering is whether or not all the perk icons should by the typical ones like in other cod games. Would simplify some stuff. But I consider those boring and I like the more oddball ones. And I really dont want to spend a bunch of time redoing all the current ones. edit: I think I will do a captain america shield but with a nade in the middle instead of a star.

They have to be the same class but even if it did I am pretty sure the better card would be limited to the same specs as the old one. At least that is what I read about AMD.
