But why not one of the sights? Either rds or the others different games have? Or any other attachment that doesnt include a silencer?
-
I posted in the shoutbox but will post here also. Does anybody use iron sights with no attachments at all? If so, why?
-
Ftag 1 has grenade launchers of course. Perk 1 is going to go for a dedicated launcher or for a rifle attachment depending on the mod. Either way its the same thing. Also, might as well complain about grenade spam in general with the 3X perk.
-
Sorry but the grenade launcher... which in the current mod I assume you mean the chinalake... has exactly the same stats as the under barrel fired one. Except for reload time obviously. And yes if you want no sway get the attachment for it. I specifically added it for this purpose but you dont get it free.

This is going to replace the Intervention. There are a few reasons. The M40 was always my fav sniper rifle in the game. The custom viewmodel takes the SP camo model with a few minor parts added so it doesnt look so plain and also for the silencer. I can use the stock world model so no need for a second world model asset. No custom sounds needed. No custom materials. Just replaced weapon skins. No custom animation assets needed. Game needs a sniper rifle without a mag. The viewmodel isnt quite finished and I am not a great weapon modeler. The scope from the stock model needs more poly detail in places. The silencer attachment is a little too small. The camo skin quality isnt very good, which is the stock skin, but I dont have the time to make up a fully custom one of my own. Just the usual photoshop stuff for color balance, contrast, fitlers and things like that if anyone has any suggestions. Or if there are any simple tweaks to the model itself if anyone has any ideas. For game balance purposes there will be no differences from the stock m40 and th L118 will match the R700 for stats but with a mag. Opinons or suggestions?

One of the reasons its not the same is that some stations... CNN is the worst and Fox is a close second... often dont check their facts first because they want 'the scoop'. Then later when they are shown to be wrong they offer a half-hearted retraction. Unless its a really big one like the Rolling Stone mess the last few days. Wouldnt surprise me if they are sued for millions for libel. Or of course the whole Bush-Gore Florida fiasco on election night. Or basically accusing on air, for weeks, a man for the Olympic bombing that had nothing to do with it. In that case it was because of 'sources' that they didnt check out to see whether or not they actually had full access to information and not just office rumor. Or just full of shit to begin with. Or the 'journalists' themselves were liars. Yes that has happened in the last few years. CNN, and others, really pushed hard the missing airliner story saying it was hijacked. For days and days 24 hours nonstop. We will never know the truth of that story, and neither did they, but went with it anyways. Why? Ratings. Its not new. In the past it was selling newspapers. But back then they didnt have 24/7/365 news coverage at the click of a button. They also didnt have the room to allow many stupid idiot time to write or talk. Many times more talk than you could ever get in a daily column. If not weekly.

This is last time I play this

300 is the limit... when they join. But there is no way to check it during the game unless PB catches something with excessive lost packets and things like that. -
None. Of the 24/7 channels they all have a right or left bias to different degrees. CNN isnt all that bad... considering the competition... but still not worth watching. Its like saying piss is better than puke. Fox/msnbc are polar opposites and hard line. I have to laugh when avid viewers of each call them 'fair and balanced'. I wont watch the rhetoric, the yelling, the holier than thou attitudes, the beliefs that if you dont think the way they do then there is something wrong with you in the brain. Far left channel? Bordering on communism. Far right? Bordering on fasicm. They might as well stop calling themselves the news and register as political parties. The fox candidate controlled by the right. The msnbc candidate controlled by the left. And like any good politician they tell their viewers/supporters what they want to hear for ratings/votes. Nuff said.

Girlfriend's Revenge: Pepper Sprayed Toilet Paper

I dont even have to watch it and I already know it must hurt like hell. But I guess it depends on whether or not you eat a lot of ultra spicy food and your anus has developed a tollerance for it. -

mw2 ft...WHAT THE FUCK!!!

No old mod. Thank you for your attention. -
Another thing that would help with modff file size a bit is to reuse more stock mp weapon sounds as much as possible. Timings with animation would still have to be close enough. Fire sounds are very distinctive so those would have to remain custom. But, where possible, reload sounds for example really arent all that important to be custom except for some weapons. Some already do this. For example the only custom AK47 sound is for fire. Everything else is from the stock game. Would this be a problem?
-
Yea you get affected by your own emp. Like you are affected by your own flash nades. Or by your own frags.
-
The ac130 needs 80k. There are weapon reload sounds bigger than that.
-
Smaller is better for compatibility. But drawing very complex models does make a difference. If LOD is high then it requires more umph to draw it all. Same with huge fx. As for drops, it will be limited to four at any one time especially because players can stack. If this happens you will be told airspace is full and will have to wait. As for ac130, not much because its a very basic model and low in detail. However it is needed for care package drops because of maps that dont have built in helicopter support. If this were a pure sci-fi game I would do care package drops like Star Trek. They would be beamed in from space. edit: Currently there is a custom briefcase used for S&D and thats coming out for the ftag-only version.
-
Just to add, taking out the pavelow model itself removed 2MB from the mod ff that can be used for better things like a shoulder fired missile which is much smaller. Thats about %10 of the whole thing. The littlebird is also fairly large and to be honest it is no better than the cobra. If I can get nice Cobra&Hind skins maybe it wouldnt matter. edit: LB is around 800k
-
Important question. I am scrounging around to find out where I can save on custom assets that really dont add much to the game. One thing is the Pavelow. It is only used for care package drops. So I am leaning towards removing that and do the ac130 for everything. Or use ac130/hind/littlebird. Because its a big model and I could really use the room in the mod ff for other things would this be missed? Also the custom uzi is out. The model really isnt all that much better than the stock one so going to replace it with a nicer skin if I can make one up. Any other ideas?

Should I just let it go or should I write a two page memo?
Sammy replied to BigPapaDean's topic in General Discussion
I dont know what you mean but best to be safe and write the memo. -
I just get the canned pumkin, as a base, and add various spices to it. Mostly cinnamon and nutmeg. You can also add a tiny bit of cloves. However the best part of it is to make your own pie dough. Also, let it chill for at least one full day. Oh and dont forget real whipped cream not the cream-wizz stuff.

First thing that comes to mind is to make sure the sticks are in the right slots if you only have two of them. Often, if you only have two, they have to go into specific slots.

Check this thread out. It was on the OW forums a couple days ago. http://openwarfaremod.com/owforum/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=12266

Hmmm. I forgot about that.

A question for all. Last couple days I have been experimenting again with shoulder fired missiles. Before it was the stinger and now the javelin. Both are cool and all but there are some serious problems with them because they were never meant to be MP weapons. Or maybe they were but the developers couldnt fix the problems with them. The problem with the stinger is that if you fire at too high of a pitch it shoots up to the same height as the target but after that pretty much just floats there aiming at its target. So in the SP game it simply has forced minimum distance checks. If you are at too high of a pitch it will tell you the target is too close and the fire button wont work. However I cant just disable the fire button in MP since certain functions are SP only. I would have to disable weapons like in spawn protection so you arent actually holding anything. I can control whether or not a lock on would work in which case the missile would just fire straight up like an rpg. At least I think this would work. Is this acceptable if it did? The problem with the javelin is that while it doesnt suffer from the problem of firing straight up... it goes very high then goes back down... it sucks against air targets. Also, if it misses and flies around for another pass it can also get stuck and float. But it will likely work great against ground targets, like the tanks in sp, if I can get the targeting system to work. Unfortunately I cannot get a javelin to reliably go after air targets at all. They miss to often. Thoughts?
