What should the default website background be?
djMot replied to Sitting-Duc's topic in Website Discussion
Well, for that matter, I like Blue on Black. -
Simple as this: Then just click the Post button. It will show as text before you post it, but will be a video after it's posted.

Goodbye Brokenfield 4
djMot replied to DEEJAYKEG's topic in Battlefield 4's Battlefield 4 Discussion
Having posted extensively in the Turn The Other Cheek forum, I can tell you the best way to upload images is to do it like this: It looks like that's just what you did, @@iboomboom, but the other thing about this server's image upload feature is that it always scales images down to a certain pre-defined width if it exceeds that width. Unfortunately, it resizes the image, not just limits the dimensions shown in the post, so even when you click on the image to see the full-size version, you won't get it there either. Maybe that's something could change at some point. It's also worth mentioning that the XI website is on of the few that lets you upload images at all. Many force you to host your image elsewhere and then just link to it. Nothing says "aw, fuck that" like making you jump through hoops just to post an image. So thank you XI for letting us upload pics. -
What should the default website background be?

I'm with you @Sitting- - Elegant FTW. That said, I do like #2 and #7 and probably would use either if I ever have to go back. Can you make the background a preference selection rather than an absolute? @@OddJob001 - Before I found out that Elegant was a choice, I used to change text color to yellow as it seemed far more legible that the default color on the dark theme. I think it was because someone bitched that it was illegible on Elegant that I learned of the alternate theme in the first place. Now I just don't change text color for that very reason. Everyone should strop and think about that for a moment - not that I don't change colors, but about the illegibility factor with certain colors, lol. Red is okay for emphasis occasionally and doesn't look bad on either dark or light themes, but that's as far as I go. -
Sorry it took me so long to notice this thread. Lost my mom at 82 to Alzheimer's. Sounds like your dad lived a life to be extraordinarily proud of. Sorry for your loss.

Well this just sucks. Wish I could find a way to help you, KEG. -
For Panzergirl. One of the prettiest songs I know, and one of my most favorite. Translation: Christina Stürmer - "Engel Fliegen Einsam" Album: "Schwarz Weiß" (2005) Do you know how poets write? Have you have ever seen one? Poets write alone Do you know how painters paint? Have you have ever seen one? Painters paint alone Do you know how angels fly? Have you have ever seen one? Angels fly alone Do you know how I feel now? Did you ever think about it? You and I together [Refrain:] Angels fly alone You and I together Angels fly alone Lonely no more Do you know how dreamers sleep? Have you have ever seen one? Dreamers sleep alone Do you know how Faries enchant? Have you have ever seen one? Faries enchant alone Do you know how the angels fly? Have you have ever seen one? Angels fly alone I know you feel the same What have you done with me? You and I together [Refrain:] Angels fly alone You and I together Angels fly alone Lonely no more Then I woke And asked myself are you also so alone? And must that be true? Angels fly alone You and I together Angels fly alone Lonely no more Angels fly alone Lonely no more

Now in rotation on DM, DM2, and Vietnam Freezetag. (servers may need to be restarted as soon as possible.) -
New band out of Milwaukee I just stumbled upon today. Their Facebook status says they are currently out in LA recording, so it looks like they have something really going on!
-
I like the ratmaps, too, Panzie. Especially the one that has the pad on the floor that makes you fly up to the shelf. I always grab my flamethrower and light it up and spin around when I'm in flight. Good for a laugh, and it looks cool. But I always get shot for it, lol. @@Icey - Yuko is that pyramid map, if I'm not mistaken. I know that one is not on everyone's favorite lists. It has some cool features, though. I've been thinking about starting a "Maps You Love/Hate" thread so we can voice our vote and then create some new rotations featuring the better loved maps. Not sure how long it will take, but I think people would really like that.
-
New map rotations are in on the DM, DM2, Modern Weapons, and Vietnam Freezetag servers. All but the main DM server (because it's got lots of players currently) have been restarted to get these new rotations in play. I will restart it as soon as I can find some slack time for it. Any other admin is welcome to restart it if you find it empty, or get a consensus of okay to restart from all that are currently playing. Report back if you restart so we don't restart it 5 times just because we didn't know. The XI Downloader has been updated with the new map rotations. Have Fun!

Under My Skin was a great CD! It was stuck in my player for a really long time. But my guilty Avril pleasure is this one of her first CD, Let Go. This one was stuck for a seriously long time! Unfortunately, for as fun and whimsical as it is, this isn't quite what defined her overall, and she didn't make an official video for it. But I love that she put herself into this song and the sense of humor that went along with it.

Couldn't watch all of that; too long. Maybe one day because it's so good... But I did watch Miranda and Carrie sing that first song "Something Bad" and all the while I just couldn't help but think about the post I made in the BF4 forum.

This is why I don't understand BF4
djMot replied to djMot's topic in Battlefield 4's Battlefield 4 Discussion
It's true what SOB is saying here. I did recently get a 50% boost, I think it is, and I'm coveting the damn thing till a double-xp weekend. Not that that's any great strategy because the weekends are usually jammed with additional excellent players to have to fight through for points. But moreover, boosts coming in Battlepacks, have been almost non-existent. Almost as non-existent as the battlepacks themselves. The great "fall update" saw so many of the payers I'm in with in the mornings getting battlepack after battlepack. Hell, they'd just log in each day and there would be more as if manna from heaven. I got squat for that update, both in terms of battlepacks (maybe 1 or 2) and xp boosts (probably none at all.) That led me to start saying that, just like in real life, it seems that in BF4 too, the rich keep getting richer and the poor get nothing. I play with guys who tell me they have so many XP boost they couldn't use them all if they wanted and can't give them away. How is this fair? I think I was at level 30 before I got a DMR. I'm only at level 34 right now, I think it is, and still only have one to choose from in most soldier classes, but I think the assault class might have a couple or three by now. Because others' experience on these matters vary, I can only assume the bf4 ecosystem is somewhat organic and I'm just having a real bad run of luck with it at this point. Maybe the game will make it up to me later. I can hope, right? -

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement. I won't walk away from the game. I'll just do my best to improve. -
Well there it is - they are giving it away.

Tell Hogan he might want to tune into my internet radio station - Girls Rock Radio I'm sure he and his wife Jennifer would rock out to it

Thanks for letting us know, Panzergirl. I think it's important for all COD5 players to understand that general griping about other players, while given a certain amount of leeway, is not of general good sportsmanship, and all too frequently encroaches on our rules against berating another player for their style of gameplay, or of all out personally attacking the other player. Let's all try to set a good example and not sink to stupid lows. It's about having fun which is always better when you don't sweat the small stuff. I'm probably preaching to the choir since most people who are reading this are already singing the same hymn.
