  1. Start > right click Computer > Properties > Device Manager > Display Adapters > right click [Your NVIDIA Video Card] > Properties > Driver tab. Mine says "Driver Version: 9.18.13.697" This means (is the same as) NVIDIA GeForce Driver version 306.97 which is the current non-beta driver. Note the encoding between the version as reported by Windows and the actual driver version as released by NVIDIA --- 9.18.13.697 >>> 306.97 NEVER under any circumstances should you use Windows Update to update an NVIDIA video driver. Go here instead and specify the card and OS you're installing the driver to and it will give you the correct driver to download. http://www.geforce.com/drivers The current NVIDIA beta driver is 310.70. This will change frequently, so depending on when you read this, it may be different already. DO NOT install it unless you feel like riding the bleeding edge of that razor. Not worth it in my opinion. Once installed, check the PhysX Driver. Start > Search "NVIDIA" > click on NVIDIA Control Panel > Help > System Information > Components tab PhysX entry should show 09.12.0613 or higher. If not, get it here - http://www.nvidia.co...613-driver.html I am running this PhysX Driver on top of the 306.97 NVIDIA GeForce driver and the visuals in COD5 are absolutely stunning! It is much better than the PhysX Driver that came with the 306.97 driver package. Installing the .0613 PhysX Driver will replace the existing driver. Just follow the prompts... Once the PhysX Driver has been updated or verified to be at least .063, go back into the NVIDIA Control Panel and under 3D Settings, click "Configure Surround, PhysX" and verify that the Processor drop down has been set to "Auto-select (recommended)" Mine was originally set to "CPU" which is just plain wrong. Once I changed it to Auto-select, the text below that drop-down list changed to read "PhysX > GeForce GTX 660 Ti" Of course, yours should read the name of your card. But if "Auto-select" does not trigger the PhysX Driver to use the graphics card, I would force it using the name of your card on the drop-down list. NOTE: Current PhysX Driver is version 09.12.1031 which is available here - http://www.nvidia.co...031-driver.html I am not running this driver, but may test it just for kicks. Hope this helps. .
  2. Even your parents remembered to take care of themselves throughout those 18 years, so don't feel guilty if you need to take time to take care of yourself during this difficult period in the life of your family. You can't do as much as you could if you're loosing ground to the stress, so take time. I know how much it takes, and I know the character required to rise to these kinds of occasions. Wishing you strength. You can do this.
  3. Bumpy ride getting you in here, but hey, there's a bunch of Idiots running this joint, so, you know... what else would you expect? Welcome aboard, Dogs.

    Hi All

    Welcome!
  5. Now THIS is how you make a Mashup! http://youtu.be/If5MF4wm1T8
  6. Probably still a lot of rerouting going on in the aftermath of Sandy. I know it's been hell for my internet radio station. Be glad you get great pings whenever you can.
  7. So true, Johnny. Accordingly, they got an F.
  8. Congrats, Stone, you Idiot.
  9. Welcome. Prepare to die.
  10. Too funny!
  11. Okay, first off, nice bikes everyone! Now, can someone tell me why half the chicks on dating sites post pics of themselves on Harleys? Maybe I'm asking the wrong crowd. I'm an Idiot.
  12. Cheers and Happy Birthday.
  13. Doubling up on prayers, Angel.
  14. Welcome. Prepare to die.
  15. That is incorrect. Windows is linked to the specific hardware parameters it was able to gather and phone home with during the registration process. Attempts to modify the hardware beyond a certain point will trigger a request that the user contact Microsoft for instructions on how to re-register the product. Windows is licensed to a specific computer, and may not be randomly reassigned to another computer, even if the old computer is decommissioned and/or scrapped for parts. This is also true of Microsoft Office products. At one time, I had anticipated transferring a Microsoft Office Professional license from an old Dell computer to a new Dell computer. It was at that time, while discussing doing so with a Dell sales rep, that he informed me the licensing agreement for Microsoft Office is also tied to a specific machine and may not be transferred to another. I went back and read the EULA and found that was precisely the case.
  16. Yeah, that's just asking for trouble. Even if it does successfully boot, you'll probably get an illegal registration notification on boot telling you to contact M$ to resolve the issue. Since it's a new machine, they will say, "yeah, you need to purchase a new copy of windows for that..."
  17. He lost me at "carnal" but for entirely different reasons. Yeah, Chili, wtf? Innuendo and metaphor on steroids there. Hell of a way to proclaim you have a woody for some babe.
  18. Prayers for comfort and peace all around.
  19. I don't have the time. 45 minutes of my life I could never get back...
  20. Welcome Fris.
  21. Hey there. S'up?
  22. That ought to kick some ass and take some names.
  23. % Processor Utilization is not equal to, or have anything to do with Processor Speed. There is a work load that the CPU must accommodate. Now, is it going to do it at 100% of its rated speed, or is it going to do it at 125% of its rated speed? Utilization is still the same, but at 125% of rated speed, how can you not get the same work done faster? Does this make sense? As to not seeing improvements with a CPU overclocked, I can only assume that whatever was used as a benchmark in real life was either disk bound, or memory bound because memory was not tuned properly (or the modules were not matched properly to the processor) leaving the CPU waiting on the memory subsystem. Sorry guys. It is rocket science. You have to understand all the factors at play. For a Sandy Bridge motherboard chipset, which memory timing is better? 7-7-7-17-1T or 9-9-9-24-1T? What speeds can these modules be run at? Rhetorical of course, but if you cannot answer these questions, you have no business trying to OC anything. Stay AWAY from your BIOS. Save your money. Run a stock Intel CPU cooler/fan, and don't worry about another thing. - OR - Go ahead and educate yourself and have some fun. And, btw, not everyone has fun with this shit, so no shame in just accepting what you got. And for everyone in the middle, a reputable builder will get this all done for you at a reasonable cost. A cost below what some high-brow gaming system company (Alienware(Dell)) would sell it for, but possibly more than the Big Box Store deal-of-the-day.
  24. Hahaha
