I imagine the reason is that you get the 275 when you go via a cable to the east coast and the 300s when you go via Europe. I wrote a script that Geo-Mapped Nightos connection accross the globe and came out with this: Some of the points are a bit iffy and default to nearest city or country. I kind of like the script and may refine it and stick it on a website.

@@NITRO I would expect your ping to be around what you're saying. But to clarify are you saying that sometimes on the current server it goes to 275? If so could you get me a tracert of it at 320 and on at 275 and I can take a look.

If they are in different locations then yes it makes sense that your ping will be different. The only way to know for sure would be for both you and one of these 'others' to both perform the steps on https://www.xtremeidiots.com/topic/58088-network-guide/ and send me the results. Different ISPs will mean different routing etc so that is a likely cause. It would not be specific to our services but to any service hosted in the same data centres that we use.

Again, nothing can actually be done unless we have good information to work with. You should execute the "ping hostname -t" command from within command prompt for at least five minutes and then send me the results. That will allow me to advise what the next analysis step should be.

@@Sweatnbullets Yeah essentially that's right, it's more of a development term but I use it in the general sense. So I maintain a text file listing all the core software I use and the activation keys.

The only thing that has changed is that after clicking the 'vote' link it no longer brings you straight to the vote page. You actually have to make the effort to click 'Vote' next to our banner which many many people seem incapable of doing. This is a issue with our account on their website but does not actually affect the vote count in any way.

The way the network is setup a server could display full red on HLSW for everyone and it could still be running, players connected and no latency change. This is because the network will drop ICMP packets in favour of TCP/UDP game traffic, very rare but possible. This is also the reason that you should not take HLSWs graph as 100% correct when investigating server connectivity. To compound things and make them more complex certain nodes could be dropping the ICMP packets when others are not, leading geographically differing reports. Anyway that's just Duc's top tip for today.

What works for me is having a defined 'Stack'. So I have a drive that contains all the iso and keys that I will need to reinstall. Additionally all my systems are setup that if I were to lose them the data is backed up in the cloud. Essentially making it as automated and structured as possible rather than a chore.

So what would your suggestion be on the changes to be made if you could? Once you create a service as big as Facebook you are naturally going to hit a man hours barrier that means you cannot process every request sent in, especially if multiple requests are sent in for the same reason. Increasing the requirements and conditions for such a request allows a mitigation of invalid requests to be made. In the end the consumer drives the companies to become harsher and the companies are forced to hide behind such processes as DMCA. I do not think it as black and white as that video makes out.

This error was caused by me and should now be resolved.

Except the example in that video Facebook wasn't in the wrong.. it was the person uploading the video. Additionally the Facebook and YouTube advertising models are different when it comes to where the money goes and how it is earned/collected. I believe that the intent of that video was not to highlight any wrongdoing by Facebook but to those that actually upload the videos and to give advice on preventative measures. The same exact thing 'Freebooting' is done on YouTube itself. It is neither Facebook or YouTube at fault but the users.

This was an error caused by me. It should now be resolved.

You will be unable to play on any of our servers until you have successfully appealed to PBBans. This is actually an Evenbalance ban but they are no longer supporting the game so going through PBBans is your only option. I will give you some time to attempt a resolve through those means.

@@mickvette If you purchased a game through Steam that generally you have to install it through them. This isn't the case with something such as COD4 where you can source the files elsewhere and use the game key from Steam. Generally though it's better to install through Steam in my opinion. By reset the email - do you mean they have changed the email to your new one or what? By your earlier post it sounded like they have done everything you need to access the account..

It causes too many problems. Discouraged for a long time, hard rule since 2011.
