I love MicroCenter. We have one here in Ohio. Great prices and they match online prices too !!!! I use to buy components through Newegg, but so much more fun driving to Columbus and shopping in that big ass nerd store !!!

All chips are not the same. Sorry but its fact. It all boils down to the "digital to analog converters" or "analog to digital" converters (same, just depends on what your doing). Separate high end sound cards use better ADC/DAC chips and that produces better explosions and such with games. Not to mention better audio playback. Now headphone/speaker choice makes a difference also. There are a lot of variables. But you want a good ADC/DAC and amp that can drive whatever you listen on. And many times. motherboard sound is not up to par.

Wolfson and Burr-Brown audio chips are among the best sounding (audiophile grade). Some mainboard sound, utilizes Wolfson/Burr Brown chips, but usually high end boards. Burr-Brown ADC/DAC's are nice sounding. I find most onboard audio chips lack-luster in audio handling, both game and music. But that's just me. Game performance (FPS), not much difference if any. Its all in the sound quality (fidelity). So you will hear better game detail with a SB card installed. That's been proven time and time again. More audio detail. Go to any consumer pc help site, tomshardware, hothardware, etc. to view test results.

They are like flat screen TV's and other electronics. Only a handful of manufacturers and each manufacturer makes many brands. Get one from a national chain and keep the receipt for the warranty in the glove box. That way if your traveling and have issues then it will be easy to get it replaced.

8.1 is not a rework of the kernel or foundation of the OS, like some have mentioned. It simply is 8 with a few added features aimed to appease us critics (which is the majority). Sales of 8 are dismal and for good reason. One needs to look at what drivers they need for peripheral devices and or if the software they use will run on that OS before choosing 7 or a version of 8. Basically the same shit we went through moving from XP or Vista to 7,.. drivers were the issue, and are more a problem with 8.

As a licensed Microsoft OEM I have several PC's in office, and around the house running everything from Windows 98 to 8.1 . Hell I have a few Linux based pc's too. I was beta testing 8 long before its release to the public. And on the oem beta test release we had a start menu !!! But Microsoft wanting to push their Windows Phone OS,.. dropped the start menu to focus on touch screen capabilities. Yes you can install "Classic Shell" and solved the stupid ass ugly touch screen squares, but Microsoft, under extreme complaints from power users and oem's are bringing the start menu back. I will soon be able to get 9 under the beta test program and I am curious as to how in depth the menu will be, but I'm not holding my breath. But if you are itching to beat hell to get and try 8 then you better install "Classic Shell" like mentioned. Hell pretty soon your OS will be on ROM and all updates and programs will be "Cloud Based" with few being directly on your pc. Microsoft will charge users a monthly or yearly "maintenance fee" to use their programs. Sort of like Steam does for games (but they don't charge a monthly fee, well.. yet). That's why 8 is the way it is

Phantogram: Not heard a new good band in years...
MikeB replied to hxtr's topic in General Discussion
I agree good band. Been listening to them since they came out. You might want to check out "Dead Sara" another good band. I feel the music industry has gone to shit. Everyhthing on the radio is so fuckin generic and boring.. You have to dig deep to find good stuff. I really have found alot of new bands on "Spotify". You might check it out. Here is a link to a "Dead Sara" video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5vr_Vhoumc Enjoy -
I did some testing on the other dm (MW) server. I unlocked my fps and ran around 400 to 600 fps. I played at that setting for awhile. I then capped my fps to 125 and it ran fine there too. Full Motion Video is an average of 24 to 30 fps. So anything above that is overkill as far as gameplay being smooth. In my testing I actually found 125 fps to be quite smooth and didnt effect my ability to kill or be killed what so ever. And on the plus side my GPU fan slowed down !! My video card is not working as hard. Even on the server in question, capped at 85 it played fine for me too. I know Ramistar has issues at 85, so why not cap it at 200 fps. Dont lock it at 200, just set the range from 1 - 200 and see what happens or just put it back to unlocked. Higher fps dont give one an advantage in my experience. Its CPU, Memory and network settings and getting rid of background apps that effect gameplay the most. Streamline your PC !!! Well actually how good a player you are effects shit too.

I notice CI's happen alot when high ping players are in or during the time they are entering. Lets not confuse CI's with lag or jerky game play. Is it "Connection Interrupts", you are experiencing ? I just upgraded my old quad core AMD to an eight core and new motherboard and started experiencing alot of jerky game play. I had to go in and change my maxfps to 0 (zero), it was at 200 which worked great on the old cpu/motherboard combo. At 0 it cleared up. MaxPackets is another setting which can cause issues with CI's. If you do a goole search on CODWAW TWEAKS, you will find alot of things to help and or try.

Rides I rode at Kings Island amusement park
MikeB replied to CobraBites's topic in General Discussion
Outside Urbana (just above Springfield). I was in Middletown Tuesday. I take my Nissan Z to Rameys Z to get worked on. I put wider tires on the back and had to roll the fenders for clearence. Takes me about an hour and 15 minutes to get there. We hit Traders World and Turtle Creek alot too. The Son of Beast was a great smooth wooden coaster. The Racers beat the shit out of you. Didnt some one fall from the Son of Beast ? Wasnt that the reason for taking it down ? Cant remember. -

Have not been there this year... Usually hit there and Cedar Point each summer. Cedar Point has a new ride, so I definately will get there. Being born and raised in Ohio, its nice to have two of the greatest parks close by !!! I was there for the Evel Knievel jump in 75. What a crazy packed day that was. I was 13 !! -
Be sure if possible to try it out before buying a Les Paul.. They are very hit or miss with quality. Not ragging on Gibson, but Ive learned with the many Gibson purchases made over the years that quality varies. They are making guitars out of the wood the fbi took in the raids. The government gave the wood back and Gibson are making some very collectable guitars out of it. They are called the "Government Series". Great investment these guitars will be.

Nice purchase !!! First song to learn on Bass ..... Stanley Clarke "School Days" !!!!! You looking to buy more ?

The time standing still or slowing down is normal. Food does taiste alot better But the munchie thing will pass or fade with usage. The pain reduction is fantastic, not to mention the other health benefits. A vaporizer would be a great investment and or a book on cooking. Better results than with smoking and healthier. Google "Silver Surfer Vaporizer" .,, They can be had on ebay cheaper than stores and double as scented wax burners when done. They are the easiest to use and look like an art piece. If your currently taking regular meds you may find that you can reduce the dosage and or use all together. But with time you will feel alot better. Keep your Dr. in the loop too. Is it helping with your hands ???
