Depending on whether or not you're running COD2 with User Account Control enabled on W7/Vista, these maps may be located elsewhere. In my case, I had to go to: C:/users/(user)/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files (x86)/ Activision/Call of Duty2/Main. In that directory, you will find the offending map: xih.iwd. Just delete it. In may case, I also had to delete two others, and everything was fine. What's happening is that these .iwd files are rewritten to apply to some map modifications, and renamed. When you launch COD2, instead of loading the revised file, it attempts to load the older file if it is still in the directory. Awards

There are more then just the .iwd files there. If a certain file is giving a problem, then most of the time all files in the same range will have an issue. Such as if file "nod001.iwd" is a problem then delete all the files in the "nod***.iwd" range. Now that being said, don't delete the files in the player folde also, those are your player config files. So now we got that cleer. Reinstall COD2 and run the downloader and wait a few hours. So go get a beer and relax.

Sometimes there will be more than one, but delete ONLY the ones that are errors. Like Gorilla said, if you delete any that come with the CD when you installed the game, you're screwed and will need to re-install the game. You shouldn't have had to delete the player folder. The map files that are errors will be in the MAIN folder under Programs\Call of Duy 2\Main. Good luck. Awards
