Advanced System Care 5

is an excellent program offering good coverage for a free program

Belarc Advisor.....(Auditor)

is the most concise auditing program for a computer

segregated and categorized (for quick access)

Advanced Spyware Remover

this free program is the easiest to use and works excellent

Reg Cleaner.........(jv16)

this manual reg cleaner is the best I've ever used grab it

while it is still free (its getting harder and harder to find)

Using CMD "attrib" to remove viruses and malwares

this is the best direction I can find for using the command prompt

"attrib" for the removal of viruses and malwares , its all step by step

Here's a tip I forgot to mention for Belarc or anything else that relates

Windows 7 users ;

windows 7 has a Snipping Tool , it should be located in your start menu

if you don't see it there just type snipping tool into the search .

with Snipping Tool you can save anything that you see on your screen as

a JPEG , like when you save a receipt instead of having it saved to a note

pad save it as a JPEG .

Thanks Psycho...one quick question, is one or multiple of thse better/worse than CC cleaner? I've been using CC Cleaner with Avast forever without any issues but if any of these are better, I'll gladly change!

Some more good free programs in the spirit of this thread.

TrueCrypt

Easy to use encryption program

7-Zip

One of the better free compression programs. Supports many formats.

VirtualBox

I use it to run Win XP and Fedora 16 under Win 7. Works well if you have the computing power to run them all at once! I would wager virtualization is going to be larger than it already is in a few years. Already many enterprise level environments are switching their physical servers to virtual ones.

Netsh

A handy windows command line program if you are lazy and want to get someone back online without trying to remove the underling malware you are certain they have installed ;) . Also sometimes the actual malware removal can corrupt the TCP/IP stack.

Netsh winsock reset

Don't forget after that many malware programs go old school and manipulate the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file. For most users just taking out any entries in that file is enough.

Granted this won't always work but like I said it's the lazy man's way of trying to get someone up real fast. Especially those who want your help for free! lol

Thanks Ruthle$$ and everyone else for adding to this thread ,

And all I can add about who's better than who's best all I can say is that for Viruses

Microsoft security essentials is the best of the freebees and I say this because it

does not require any user control , programs like Avast are good but are very limited

in what they can do , take Advanced System Care 5 it has a free version and will do

a shit load of crap and for being free is excellent , and the old standby Reg Cleaner

that I have been using for over 10 yrs still proves itself over and over its manual and

damn handy ,

Which brings me to say what's coming ahead :

Yesterday I went Virus hunting and found a doosie called (BEST VIRUS PROTECTION)

OR BEST , it only took about 3 minutes to infect my Computer and the results of removing

it will be posted by Sunday .

Also I will be gathering up some more good free stuff for everyone to enjoy .

Lets keep up this thread everyone and again Thank You.

Yep. Advance system care is the best I've used so far. Clean up the PC very well of spyware and unwanteds in the registry.

I use some of those too...and superantispyware (still really good / detects more than malwarebytes) and smart defrag. For an occasional deep cleaning i use tfc (temp file cleaner by old timer)...and for wierd viruses i sometimes use dr web cure it (freedrweb.com). CCleaner is good and simple, just not as comprehensive as advanced system care.
