Spot on DJ. W8 is designed for tablets and may work well there - it'll be interesting to see the capabilities of the Windoze tablet later this year. One huge benefit may be the ability to load programs on it' we'll see. As for desktops, you WILL NOT want to upgrade to W8. That leaves over a decade for the switch and for MS to get back into the hardware bussness.
