hey guys I was wondering is it better to go with 2 x4gb mem or 1 x 8gb mem all specs are the same.

i am just not sure is 2x4 configuration running in dual channel is faster that a single 1 x 8 setup any help is appreciated

I'd go with 2 x4GB. Dual channel can have better performance than running a single stick and the cost of the 2 sticks is probably similar or less than the 1. Also keep in mind that memory should be bought in pairs in order to take advantage of the dual channel feature.
