ati 6870 boot video issues Asus P5G41T-M LX

When i shut my pc down for the night. I have been having issues with Cold Boot. After it sits over night and i try to turn PC back on I have no video. It will not turn my lcd monitor on. Pc seems to load as the Hdd Light is going and After i shut it down with switch it asks How to start windows.

After some tries it will work and game all day.About 3 reboots

In the rebooting i am trying to get to on board video to check mobo / Pci card and bios setting. To check if iot is set to on board or pcie video output.

Dont know what to test and best way.

best thing i can say to do is update the drivers... if you have the newest ones then do a rollback to a one that is known to work good...

then go into bios when you can and make sure that the onboard vid card is disabled and you have the ati card as your default.

other than that i dont think there is really anything that can be done about. if neither of those work my guess is either your mobo is failing or you vid card is failing... i have that problem from time to time but i know my mobo is failing cuz i got it back in 2009 lol

Update your mobo bios. Sometimes it helps a lot with motherboard related issue.

i see P5G41T-M LX has 11 bios updates with bios version BIOS 1101 current with a ton of system improvements

NOTE: read all about bios flashing in dos to update your bios. if done wrong you have a paper weight till you replace bios chip

other is your CMOS battery is dead , not keeping setttings over night an no video is due to the MB is doing video not your Ati card video

updating drivers will do nothing, drivers don't do anything until the operating system is loaded, updating the bios might help.

Try cycling the power on the monitor during boot and see if it picks up, it may be a monitor issue.

check some of the simple stuff first like loose cables on the back of the monitor and the computer.

I found a loose power cable on the back of a computer at work...worked fine until you shut the computer off...go figure

I kinda have the same problem. Monitor does not pick up the signal. I just shut the monitor off then turn it back on. I have been living with that for a long time.

When do you find you have this problem? Straight from boot up, coming out of hibernation, any time, etc?

What brand of monitor do you have and model of video card? Have you also tried putting the monitor on a different PC if one is available to see if it behaves in the same manner?

Ok so after that post i did this.

2 OS installs

first one had a blue screen just after getting vid drivers install, reboot, Install team speak. During that Blue screen Then a reboot to a check disk. Got passed that back in Os to have distorted sound. Spend time updating sound drivers. No Sound fix.

-

Second OS install:

All went well and sound worked well with stock WIn drivers.

Test: in game BF3

Crash with a error
