First on the Anema (?) map, I got: Impure client detected. Invalid .IWD files referenced. c:\program files\activision\call of duty 2\main\xiz.iwd I Googled the problem and gathered I had to delete the offending file. I did that and tried to reconnect... Same error - this time on the Cherbourg map - with the offending file shown as kk.iwd Any thoughts/ideas gratefully received. Aftermath of Sandy. Are you talking about an other server, perhaps? Edit: Should probably clarify that the server may be up, but users cannot be authenticated due to outages at Activision. (I have not tried connecting to a non-XI server yet) Whenever there are new maps added it seems like there are always old iwd files that conflict. Yes you need to remove them, and sometimes you need to remove several before being able to play. (I have not tried connecting to a non-XI server yet) You have to remove all the files that conflict on the COD 2 servers. Sometimes it could be several files. I have made that mistake & thrown away stock maps. Patiently log back in and record the offending .iwd and delete until you can join the game.
