Arma 3 looks totally awesome. I'm totally going that way instead of BF4.

I think I'm almost done with bf3 too anyways...

I played the alpha but it was...not exactly appealing. I'm sure if I played it enough I'd get used to it. For now it's just not my idea of fun. I do enough of the real thing, don't really want to play a game that just recreates more of it. The controls are crazy (for example, controlling a chopper requires not 3 buttons but 6 + the mouse). Communication is big, but it's ridiculously complex.

The game itself is not for the average FPS gamer. In simplest terms, it's not a game you want to play unless you plan to fully immerse yourself.

Yep... I totally understand.

The only other game I play regularly besides BF3 is EVEonline which is an MMORPG. It's as much a social game as a spaceship shooter.

I'm actually getting a bit tired with BF3. All the running-gunning etc just gets chaotic and old after a while.

The only thing that will really keep me going on BF3 is a private server with tactical gameplay. I'm talking a squad that actually communicates and works together.

I figure in Arma, everybody plays like that lol.

They do. Just be prepared to get hounded when you fuck up. It's even more serious than a WoW raid in voice chat.  And I do know what you mean, it's way more fun when you're playing with people who communicate to accomplish an objective (how often do you play with a BF3 squad leader who actively sets objectives?). I honestly thought BF3 would be more of that than compared to CoD, but it's about the same. Really though, BF sold out. Originally, BF had a pretty steep learning curve, which meant it pushed away the kinds of players you want to punch in the face because they don't understand the concept of teamwork. But in order to make money, they broke down and made it easy enough for a 6 year old to play. This is where Arma will either learn from or follow suit. Guess we'll just have to see...
