I am not a math genius but this is very interesting.
The videos are abot how the Enigma machine worked to encode messages
of the german army in the second world war And about how the british forces

found a flaw and broke the code.

I watched a documentary about 6 months ago about the code breakers at Bletchly Park and it was revealed that the Germans had a much more powerful code making machine then Enigma running right through the war ( sorry i cannot remember the name of it or the documentary, sure it was on the BBC) we were told that at the start of WW2 Enigma was already out of date, because of the official secrets act and everything this news has just been released recently, this new machine was much quicker then the Enigma machine and far more complex ( that's saying something when you see how complex the Enigma machine was) i am really kicking myself now because i cannot remember the name or the documentary, just a last note about the Enigma machine, us British actually had already captured 2 machines before the Americans got theirs, so that movie U571  was a load of old Bunk, there was also another documentary on recently about the men who actually made these code breaking machines, really the first modern computers, they were nearly the size of a house, again because of the official secrets act these men were unknown and unsung heroes for many many years, again i cannot remember their names....Hmmm.

I think you mean the Turing-Welchman-Bomb? It was developed by Alan Turing and Gordon Welchman.

I don't know if there was a more powerful machine but I would like to know more about it. I know that they had several versions of the Enigma. Maybe one of them?

Please let me know if you find out the names of the documentatios. :D

I am fascinated about how how complicated Enigma was and still easy to use.

Technoboy i found this little snippet from the BBC program Timewatch about the machine that was better then the Enigma, it's only a few minutes long but you may be able to find the full show if you look online, i think the code was called Tunny and the machine was called the "Lorenz" (SZ40) much more sophisticated then the Enigma as you will see. Also a little bit about the 3 men that built the machine and cracked the code, these men probably shortened WW2 but there names have only just been revealed, it makes me very proud to watch things like this, these men should have been honoured but their names were kept secret for years. It turned the Battle of Kursk, Orchestrated the D-Day landings and was also used in the cold war after WW2, that's why it has been kept a secret for so long.

If you have time, read "Bodyguard of Lies" by Anthony Cave Brown. It details the British espionage efforts throughout the second world war.

Yes that is the program, Timewatch on the BBC. It's a shame they have let Bletchley park get rundown like that, they should have made a wartime Museum or something there to honour it and the people who worked there.
