Read the terms and conditions for Google Wallet to see what your recourse is on a transaction that goes sour.  Google Wallet is a great way to pay for Android apps and music through the Google Play store, but I haven't really heard of its use outside that context.  I'm sure it's okay wherever else it applies, but remember - these services should cloak your credit card information from the seller.  DON'T give your CC number to ANYONE who is expecting payment via services like Google Wallet, PayPal, etc., as that would surely raise a red flag as a scam.

Well, if something smells like shit, don't step in it, my mother always used to say.  Actually she never said that at all, but it sounds like some of her wisdom.

Google Wallet vehicle purchase scam

You find a cheap car online, and the seller claims that for your protection the purchase will be completed via Google Wallet. The car price is "too good to be true" and the seller claims a need to sell the car quickly because he or she is moving, moving out of the country, being called for military service, getting a divorce, etc. The reality is that there is no car, and you won’t be using Google Wallet. Instead, the seller will send you an invoice that appears to be from Google Wallet, but will instruct you to make the payment via Western Union, Moneygram or bank transfer.

A legitimate Google Wallet transaction will require that you sign in to your Google Account and execute the payment using the Google Wallet interface. Google Wallet does not accept wire transfers/bank transfers or payments via Western Union/Money Gram, nor does it use any escrow type of payment.

Google Wallet used to be called Google Checkout, and some scammers still use the Checkout logo and trademarks in their emails and other communications.

hmm scam i guess. time to vist RCMP 3 miles from me. I'LL LET THEM CLOSE THE DEAL .check this out heres e mail sent to me. Just in case some of you don't know  RCMP  stands for  ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE .

Hi,

Thank you for your interest in buying my vehicle. My 1970 Plymouth

Barracuda has 94,000 original kms, automatic transmission. It is in perfect

condition, no need for additional repairs,no scratches, dings, rust, special

marks whatsoever. The interior looks great. It runs like new and all services

are up to date. Also, I need to mention that it was never involved in any

accidents, pets free.

The price is $1,800 (non-negotiable). Because of my divorce settlement, I

own this vehicle and I don`t need it because I have another vehicle so I'm

trying to sell it as soon as possible. I gave the vehicle to Google Wallet who

will deliver it to the next owner. The transaction will be made through Google

Wallet for our own safety because I'm out of town with my job for another 3

weeks and I can't take care of this. The best part about this is that you'll get

5 days for inspection for free with no further obligation or fees.

If you're interested in purchasing it just email me your full name, full

address and phone # so that I can initiate the deal through Google Wallet and

they will contact you to explain the procedure.

PS: I can send more pics.

Thanks!

Well got no other pics and no one contacted me just an  e mail this morning with how to pay buy money gram transfer. aparently google wallet doesn't use this as i was on the internet all morning.

heres this morning's e mail.

Hi again,

Google Wallet told me that they have sent you the invoice.Let me

know if you got it!

ps: this reminder may end up in your "Junk E-Mail" or

"Bulk" mail folder, depending

on your service and mail account

settings.

I wait your answer ASAP

Regards!

came 2:09 this morning . also google wallet info came right behind it 2:09 as well. fuckers.

If a seller requests payment through wire transfer, money transfer services such as Western Union or Moneygram, or direct bank transfers, it is likely fraudulent. Google Wallet only supports payment through credit or debit card, and does NOT support money transfers.

WELL THERE YOU GO DOES NOT SUPPORT MONEY TRANSFERS. DEBIT OR CREDIT CARDS ONLY .

Ilive by these 3 words.

TRUST NO ONE.

That's just a Canadian thing.  Here in the USA we're too smart to fall for that.  But we buy the Brooklyn bridge all the time!
