I can just answer right here.

Bullets travel at a certain velocity. Impacts are checked frame by frame as the projectile travels along its path. The issue here was that if the bullet happened to impact a target just at the very end of the segment for its frame, sometimes it would register as a hit on the same target the very start of the next frame as well.

The collision response function failed to properly ignore this double impact, causing the damage to be given twice.

This also explains why we've been having a fairly hard time reproducing the issue as well, since it only happened if you were shooting a target at certain very precise ranges (basically a multiple of a full frame of travel time at bullet velocity worth of distance from the shooter).

this game is so advanced utilizes newest technology such n such. yet it fails to run simple things that 10 years old games run just fine. such as black screen on spawn. horrible hit detection hit marker hit registration. you kill a guy in an instant or it takes entire mag and still cant kill a guy. guy sprayd me for about 1 2 seconds point blank. i turned around shot him and killed him. i took no damage at all. felt good and sorry for him at the same time. or sometimes i get shotgunned and i take no damage and kills him just fine.

We are verifying the upcoming PC patch and making sure it is good to go. We are aiming to get this patch out the week of Dec 2. Right now, we don’t have a set date for it, but here’s what it will include. Stay tuned for more updates in the Battlefield 4 Control Room.

PC Game Update Notes
-Removed the blur effect on soldiers that appeared when Commanders were using EMP attacks
-Fixed the audio bug where audio sometimes randomly dropped out while playing on certain multiplayer maps (typically Golmud Railway and Hainan Resort)
-Fixed the "one-hit kill bug" where occasionally damage from a single bullet was applied multiple times
- Fixed a common crash that would occur when exiting from the Single Player Campaign to Main Menu
-Tweaked the network and computer performance screen to show proper values. Players can now test their computer and network connection and get recommendations if they need to adjust something to improve their gameplay experience.

lmfao so the people were crying about being killed with one shot sorry in real life that happens,this game is suppose to be sort of a war simulation is it not .............

you are very wrong. arma is. you dont repair a tank while it is getting spammed by rpg. you just dont resurrect people that just got c4 blasted. if you really like realism play hardcore it is not as fun as softcore though. id suggest you to play arma . it is most realistic shooter out there at the same time it is very fun.. battlefield series was never really focused on realism.

Keep in mind that these 10 year old games had the same kind of problems and were improved in later patches. Often there are bugs so small that simple beta testing wont pick them up. Increase the complexity of an engine, the network code and a much more sophisticated environment and the problem increases exponentially.

 

As for emptying a clip and not hitting anything that is why there is such a term as spray and pray. People watch too many action movies and think people that rock and roll with an smg always hit their targets. All except for the bad guys that cant hit a barn with a machine gun.
