I agree with Nobodygood. the power supply unit is the most ignored pc component inside the case. But to me it's the heart of every pc. If it provides erradic output you will absolutely have all kind of probelms. check to make sure it still work properly.

I agree check the power supply. It will still run with a bad power supply but cause countless trouble.

All power supplies are not equal even if they are the same wattage. You get what you pay for.

If you have added any new hardware(video cards, hard drives, players etc.) in the last little while it may be too much for the power supply.

My Power Supply is 800 watts! It seems to be running just fine but how the hell do you test one when you don't have one you can use to test it with?

I just tried to reformat my new HD and I get this code about a large capacity storage unit not communicating with windows so it shut down! I don't have anything plugged in that has a huge storage capacity other than my 2 tb hd! The code it gave me was 0xc00000e9! What ever that means!

Okay now I have a real problem! Neither of my hd will let me reformat! I get the same damned code from both of them and then shuts down! WOULD someone please help this old man? I am now locked out of the old hd as my mouse has issues where it won't open or close pages and when I reboot on the old hd it goes to the profile selection page where my mouse simply won't click on my profile to log in! I am absolutely beside myself and nothing to do until I get it up and running again!

well, that's a bunch of problems.. wth?

As far as i know, 0xc00000e9 is an I/O error. It's possible that there is something wrong with one of the HDDs or the communication between your MB and the HDD doesn't work properly.

it could be

- a damanged HDD or simply just the MBR
- a faulty SATA cable

- not enough power

Regarding your event logs:

Could you please copy the details of the most recent errors (no warnings) here or in a PM to me?
You just have to

- open your event viewer,

- click once on the error

- click oce into the text area in the "general" Tab
- press CTRL+A (marks all text)
- press CTRL+C

- paste it here and write down the event and the name:

Please use the "Code" option (<>) to seperate them. Please wirte down the Event ID and source as well

For example:

Event 10, WMI

Ereignisfilter mit Abfrage "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" konnte im Namespace "//./root/CIMV2" nicht reaktiviert werden aufgrund des Fehlers 0x80041003. Ereignisse können nicht durch diesen Filter geschickt werden, bis dieses Problem gelöst ist.

Event 1000, Application Error

If you get a blue screen next time, write down the time of day and review your event log. You will find the content of the buescreen within your eventlog too.
