@@Sammy,

 

Can we separate the KS awarded in CPs? For example, 3-kill CP limited to KS that you would normally get by getting up to 7 kills. For Attack Package you could have everything above 8-kills + the tac nuke. I mean it's ridiculous that you would get a mini-nuke with a 3-kill CP. I get 8-kills use my attack package and all I get is a counter UAV, that's non-sense IMO.

Thats the luck of the draw. With the 8-kill package you might get an RC.

 

The attack package shouldnt have a cuav. Only lethal streaks. But if this is not the case let me know.

I have gotten UAV and CUAV from it. On the other hand yhat mini nuke should really be taken out of the refular 3-kill CP. Its just too cheap to get that this way. It makes logical sense otherwise whats the point of having two Package KS if the only difference is Tac Nuke and that too doesnt happen too often. Mini nukes from a 3 KS are rampant. Ok you shouldnt be getting those from the 8-kill one. I remember at one time I experimented with an advanced uav of sorts for it. Bigger map, faster refresh, cannot be shot down, etc.

 

edit: I dont see those as options. strange.

So do you plan on changing this or do I need to do something special to call a vote? All I am saying is that the 4-KS CPs (3 w/hardline) shouldn't be as powerful as it is right now. A Sentry Gun/Heli/Paveway should be the highest awarded CP KS for those.

 

I would say take the RCXD out of the Attack package. It's an inferior reward for high number of kills.

 

I hope this makes tactical balancing sense.

While I was specing someone dropped a mininuke and I suspect its range settings are far too big in the server options. I saw players die that were not even close to the explosion fx. IIRC the defaults were raised by due to complaints... as often happens... about it being too weak but maybe it was adjusted too much the other way. Feel free to ask players, both the attackers and victims, their opinion on this.

 

Just for clarification, mininuke, B2 and the helis all have the same weights for choosing the awards.

Well IMO if the map is small and a mini nuke takes out everyone then so be it. If it's dropped on a large map and gets over seventy to eighty percent coverage then maybe it needs dropping back a little, only for the fact that at that coverage it's nearly as effective as a tac nuke.

The mini nuke has been neutered. Its useless now. The other day I called it on a small map and it didnt kill a single person out of 11. U can get more kills with a paveway than a mini nuke. Maybe turn up the heat a little bit?

If something hits the map ceiling tell me which one so I can test it. With all the custom maps and the different ways they are made sometimes some manual settings have to be added.

The way its written it should be highly unlikely since airstrikes take their height from heli nodes. So if helicopters are ok airstrikes are ok. But some extra height is given so aircraft dont fly through helis. Its possible on some maps that the heli nodes are already very close to the top and the extra height might be too high. You can tell if helis are blowing up dust in the air as tho they are near the ground.

I will check out the heli's aswell see if there is an airborne dust up. I will let you know if I find anything.

Forgot to add. Obviously some maps dont have helicopter support so airstrike height is more or less a 'best-guess' method based on various checks. But it is not guaranteed and when all else fails it requires a manually set height with the value kept in server configs. MW2 and after do it that way with an airstrike node built into the map for specific height information.

 

edit: oh and you can watch friendly helis to look for dustup.
