Just wondering if the oil in the pan will reignite due to  temperature, I guess that would depend on the amount of oil and the duration of the fire

I can see that working to disrupt the flames but what about embers? I would think something to physically suffocate any hot spots would still be needed.

I guess they would have to keep the sound going at a specific frequency for a while...plain water would be more cost effective :-)
