Or Amazon jp? I am curious how strict US customs is if its just one or two BD's. Also whether or not they actually need someone at the door before they would deliver it. Awards

I didn't have any problems and don't think I had to sign for it or anything. Awards

So it would be one of those two companies I would preorder from. I just fear some customs official having a bad day and deciding he wants to hold up a small package with a disc or add another %50 to the cost. Awards

I've fallen foul of this in the UK with a postman requiring a payment at the door that has been more than the goods were worth. Strangely, the notable exception was when I bought a "USS Enterprise" Zippo lighter from the wife of a US serviceman stationed in Japan. It only took a few days to get here and I didn't have to pay any extra taxes or handling charge. Awards

You know the movie companies are a powerful lobby here..so wouldn't surprise me if they got some rule passed that says if the item is listed as a DVD, it has to have a duty paid or some BS. I was actually considering ordering that set myself. I Started watching Macross Saga when it first came out...and I was a Junior in high school. Damn I am getting old too fast lol. Awards

First saw the movie in 85-86 when it made the rounds around the various anime communities while I was in high school. If you are talking robotech however, which I didnt actually see until later, you can get that domestically extremely cheap from Amazon. cdjapan told me that import duties are not something they collect up front because they are simply too complicated with all the various locations around the world having different policies. People around are saying it is unlikely a small package with less than $200 US declared value would be opened up but no guarantees. I am just a worry wart. edit: Back in my youth there was a Kinokunya store a 10 minute walk away that would order stuff for me. Ah the good ol days. Edited October 2, 2015 by Sammy Awards

I buy stuff online all of the time from overseas that arrives unopened. In fact, I can't recall a single package ever being opened. Edited October 2, 2015 by little_old_man Awards

That and if I am not trying to import 10 grand worth of merchandise. Awards

Which is good. But it said nothing about whether or not I am going to be charged any kind of duties. The value of the package itself is maybe 60 bucks US. So based on what a lot of people say that, in the US at least, it is highly unlikely that will happen. But if so I imagine duties on a $60 package wont be that much. Awards
