So, I have an old samsung Q310 (5 years old) and was gonna save up and just get a battlestation but I hear sticking an SSD inside and having a clean install of windows will breathe new life into it?

Any info on where I should start?

 

I'm running windows Vista on an

Intel Core Duo 2 P8400 @2.27ghz

4gb ram

Samsung HM320JI Hard Drive

NVidia GeForce 9200M GS

That one is tickled out im afraid....With only 4gigs and Win Vista your barely good for browsing the web

 

In fact Google will no longer update or support Xp or Vista and many websites already dont

 

Anything Quad core with 8 gigs and Win 7 for now will keep you running along

 

 

 

 

Time to break open the coin jar or fill it up real fast

More RAM..take out the optical drive and put in an ssd(that way you won't lose storage)...maybe even a new OS...and it should be good for general use for another couple of years...just my 2 cents on it...

when replace with new hardware  your getting the best speed and power savings

 

if your only doing Email  not worth the cash to update

you know it's fast enough for general surfing and stuff like that , An ssd drive and an clean install would do wonders for it , and depending if you have ddr 2 or 3 , if it's ddr 3 you could update the ram,

 

I really hate vista , you could try and put Win 7 on it , If there's drivers for it.
