I had an 8 core amd selected but upon further reading people say (minimally) the I3 would compliment the 960 better, and obviously the I5 would be alot better. Now considering i dont want to spend close to 250 bucks for I5, should i go with the AMD or I3 ? sorry for all the questions as of late. Im starting to get down to the wire on the construction of m rig and i want to make sure everything is perfect for my budget and im getting the most fuck for my buck. Thanks everyone i appreciate it alot ! Awards

Some things benefit from the 8 cores. Others from the higher per-core power of the i5/7. Another thing to consider, based on cost, is wattage over time. 65w for the i5 6600 and 125w for the 8350, if that is what you are looking at. That extra 60w can add up in electricity bills. Also takes better cooling for all that extra heat generated. Both even more so if you do a great deal of long term processing at full load. Awards

Onboard is decent but even a low cost card is better. I think mb audio... and the software... these days is tuned for gaming not so much for music. asus dgx pcie would be a good inexpensive choice if you primarily use headphones for music like I do. When I was investigating new parts a few months ago I had no idea the size of some of the monster air coolers out there. Im not an expert on cooling but if you plan any overclocking or lots of processing under load.... %80+ cpu... then that one likely wont be enough. Or the single fan will run so fast that it will sound like a turbine. So far I like my corsair water cooler but it was a bitch to install into the case correctly otherwise it would block important mb connections. Every second I thought I was going to break it and spill coolant everywhere. However the rear fan wont work at the moment because the hoses interfere with it. Awards

I have the 1 standard fan, plus im ordering 2 fans for the vents. so that'd be enough right ? Awards
