The history of the sub goes like this. I bought it new along with the other five JBL satellite loud speakers around 2003. The system has always sounded great. Then in 2010 the sub blew and I sent it out to be fixed (JBL fixed it for free). It worked great again up til about a month ago it blew again. I had nothing to lose by opening it up and checking it out. I have good luck tinkering with stuff. Upon investigating I noticed that two large capacitors looked like they were not original to the circuit board. I pulled them off the board and scribbled down the info printed on them. A quick Google search and I bought two new replacements for a total of $8.00. After cleaning up the old solder with my Dremmel, I used a JB Weld plastic epoxy to glue the new capacitors in place. (anti-vibration precaution). The metal prongs on the opposite side of the board then needed to be cleaned up to accept new solder. After scratching some of the green film away to expose some new copper, I fluxed and soldered. She's back up and pounding like a champ!
