FYI

Microcenter has the HP OMEN 870 I7K/16/2+256/1080/10G

HP OMEN 870-090 Desktop Computer; Intel Core i7-6700K Processor 4.0GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX1080 8GB GDDR5X VR Ready; 16GB RAM; 2TB HDD + 256GB SSD

for $1399.99

Seems like a pretty decent deal?

*EDIT* Sorry it's an OMEN not an ENVY

The problem is, they may have stuck a 6700k on the board but the board (knowing HP) doesn't have any overclocking facilities.

Good Point, but it does look like they have something:

"Overclocking capability

Unleash the full potential of the OMEN. Boost your gaming performance and other desktop tasks with the overclocking functionality.1"

It really looks like a bargain until you dig a little deeper....

500 watt power supply

No cooling specs

HP added garbage programs

Win 10 Home

For that kind of money you could build your own with the same CPU, GPU, memory...and a better mobo, os and better cooling...

Good points!  It has a little closed loop liquid cooling setup.  The PS is potentially an issue and likely the weakest link, but they are cheap to replace if needed.  I think most folks would be likely to wipe and reload OS too.
