I know pretty much nothing about Android tablets yet my wife expects me to fix a problem on hers.

Google Play Services keep stopping and I haven't got very far towards a solution using Google search.

Does anyone have any expertise with these things or can anyone point me in the right direction towards

stopping this constant complaining in my left ear? :sofa:

Make sure its backed up to google cloud with your wife's google acct. Then reset it to factory settings. Then log into her acct again and restore. Easy yet time consuming. But its the best way. If that don't work it makes a great door stopper.

We ain't paying for anything.

From what I have learnt, the problem has been widespread and re-installing Google Play Services with a new version may assist.  The darned things almost totally FUBAR now and even she is talking about factory settings.

I got the ruddy thing going again.  I don't think it is a permanent fix but the problem was like constipation.  The tablet was so crammed up with junk and even apps that it was running out of resources to operate.  As these things auto-update, there's a need for continual maintenance to remove junk.
