I am having major problems which are really beginning to P me off. I cannot get my mic to work on COD 2 or 4 now, originally this was just a prob on COD2. I have been thru every possible configuration and tonite really got fed up as nothing works at all!!

Is this just me or do others have problems with mic set up?

To cap it all I have just played the worst set of games ever, in one map on COD4, scored a F***ing ZERO points!!

Aaarrrrgggghhhhhh

I would feel a tad better if I could at least speak while playing, pressing T and typing while being killed a million times is a real pain in the ass!!!!

Hey MVett, I know this is stupid, but have you looks to see if your mic is muted in your control panel. I know I've had that problem a few time when I use different programs. Just a stab in the dark.

this also may seem stupid but there might be a short in the cord. I had a short on my headset that made it where i couldnt hear any voice chat, just crackly gameplay. Now i just plug in a pair of regular radio shack headphones while i wear my mic (headset around my neck) and it rocks. Hope its as simple as something like that man. Good luck

Hi guys, answers to each:

Gorilla: checked this, defo not that as a problem. I used to get that all the time in COD2, but when I got my new PC it stopped

billyblade: checked the connections etc, sound comes thru fine in speakers etc, also currently using heaset and mic as you do

Labob: Only happens in game play

To expand: sometimes it is all fine, other times all people hear from me is static or whooshing sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel!

It it all very random. I have gone thru all the setting variations in Options (game play) and in my control panel and sound card, but nothing seems to solve it.

The strange thing is that it breaks from one moment to another. The other when I played with you CoD2 your voice came first loud and clear and the next moment it was sort of white noise. Perhaps you should replace your mic.

If your mic ain't the problem and it's your pc you might have to do what i used to do and reset your pc to an earlier date or do a full restore back to its original factory settings ( if you have a disk) i know that sounds extreme but it used to work for me.

Capture.JPGI use a creative usb headset, you could get 1 and return it if it doesnt work but call me up at home and we can get on line and compare settings for cod2 and cod4.

I'ma going to guess your using the MB sound. Iwould see if you could get your hands on a pci sound card and test that out . Rockape got the other option go to usb it digitizes the sound before it goes into your box solving a bunch of these type of problems. Besides that you can spend a whole lot of time trying things out only to have something else go weird with sound in the game.

Not sure if you did this but you could also just check for an updated audio driver

Hey Vett, stupid thought. Have you tried to change the button you press to key your mic. Maybe your button is going bad. I've sen that one before.
