Haven't tried to run COD 2 since I install Win 11 but it won't run.  Here's the error I get...

CoD2 MP 1.3 build win-x86 May  1 2006
----- FS_Startup -----
Current language: english
Current search path:
E:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 2/main
E:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 2/raw
E:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 2/raw_shared
E:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 2/devraw
E:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 2/devraw_shared

File Handles:
----------------------
0 files in iwd files
ERROR: No languages available because no localized assets were found
Error during initialization:
Couldn't load default_localize_mp.cfg.  Make sure Call of Duty is run from the correct folder.

Tried to uninstall it and reinstall but the install errors out saying that I have to have "Flash" installed.  Haven't had Flash on the system in ages and can't install Flash since Adobe dumped it years ago.  Any ideas?  Also this is not a Steam version.  Soes the Steam version work with Win 11?

Hey CW4. I have COD2 on Windows 11 and have not had that type of problem.  I find the game takes a bit to load but otherwise works.  I've had it loaded for some time now and honestly don't recall if I loaded it before or after I upgraded to Windows 11.

The 0 files in iwd files almost sounds like the game files didn't install correctly.
I'd start by uninstalling the game if you haven't already and manually delete any COD2 game folders/files if any remained.
Then try to re-install the game along with PB and direct X if prompted.  You can also try changing the properties of the .exe file to change compatibility mode and see if that makes a difference.

Good luck.

Try what Merlin said.  It took me a few times loading it and removing it till I finally got it to work on mine.   I had to clean out every trace of the program and files from my system to get it to work.  Never found a direct way to resolve the issue.   Originally when I had purchased my new computer I downloaded my game files to a external hard drive and then reloaded them into the new computer.  It would load but not run.  That’s when the challenge of reloading it from the discs I have started

Lol. I forgot about that part.  Had to plug my old mic in for it to work.  It didn’t like the USB one

Wow, completely forgot about that too. That's how long it's been haha.  The older games look for an input/output device.
