New year, new rotation? Continuing the three month rotation I have in place, I have now created and uploaded the new packs and rotation to the server, ready for everyone to download and get in. 

!!YOU WILL NEED TO DELETE THE WIN_25 MAP PACKS FROM YOUR COD2/MAIN FOLDER!!

 I am not responsible for cleaning up your CoD2 main folder. You know the drill. You cannot delete these with the game open. You must have the game closed. If you get an invalid .iwd referenced, remember it and delete it from your CoD2 main folder.

Thanks, Pain! Appreciate you changing the rotation regularly. Old ones get  "stale"!

Pain we all are very grateful for everything you do for the COD2 servers. Just one question though, I thought the server locked up on one map on Saturday because it seemed to freeze at the end of a map and I don't remember the maps name but I know I quit the game and had to refresh the main server menu several times before the TDM server showed up again on the list however when I got back in the game was playing and was about half way done. Was this because of it freezing up or was it the end of the rotation? I just ask because if we have a map that is causing it to freeze in the past that map is usually removed from the rotation? Everyone knows that I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer but had to bring it up just in case there is a bad map... Again THANK YOU FOR BEING SO DEDICATED and putting up with me

If it happens again, I'll sort it. I have changed at least two maps so far, and will be changing a third tomorrow because I haven't had the time all week. The main CoD2 server menu is pretty crap so I don't always trust that - i've had servers vanish from there and then come back again like it was nothing. I have noticed that some maps take a while to load, or change - and that has been worrying me. 

What I'll do before everyone gets in tomorrow is give the rotation one more blast through to check for any hiccups. I am pretty sure I got them all - but doesn't hurt to check. I will also see if I can remove the fog in the maps too; had some complaints about one of the maps being too foggy. It's on my to do list after I've finished doing some studying.

About time I had a smooth running and I didn't have to skip any maps, and everyone was happy. Never gonna get that again so enjoy it :lol:

Its every three months but if people want it shorter I can do every two months? 🤔 we'll see what people think

So good news, I can fix the fog.

And bad news, I can't fix the fog. 

There's a line of code in a file that needs to be deleted on the pack on the server (any attempt client side will result in the pack being redownloaded so you match the server):

level._effect["fogbank_small_beltot"] =loadfx ("fx/misc/fogbank_small_beltot.efx"); [the .efx file located in iw07.iwd]

That will mean nothing to most of you, but BASICALLY the real foggy map has a reference to a fog that is used in the core game. I can delete that reference so it doesn't try to go "yea lets put loads of fog everywhere" OR I can be really dumb and delete the entire fog effect file from the core game files on the server (if all else fails and I am not risking it).

 I don't have access to the redirect so I can't fix it wihout Loader.This is all also completely hypothetical - I do not have a safe testing environment to try this out.
