My Newest Toy drove 600 miles to get her home.
little_old_man replied to PHUCKITMAN's topic in General Discussion
Nice bike P-Man. My last bike was a 1972 Honda CB750. Got tired of cars not seeing me and running me off the road, so I gave up riding many years ago. Still miss it on occasion. -
Difference between Holland and The Netherlands
little_old_man replied to JAYsus_NL's topic in General Discussion
Don't mistake pride in our ancestry as a lack of national pride. We have both and are passionate about them. With the exception of African-Americans, very few of us hyphenate our identities. We're Americans first and foremost. My ancestry is Irish, English and Welsh, but that all takes a back seat to being an American. I identify most strongly with my Irish heritage because my grandmother and great grandmother both came here from Ireland and I grew up knowing both of them very well. One of my grandfathers was a direct descendent of a Mayflower passenger, so there is a lot of pride knowing that I have a bit of the first Europeans to arrive in North America in my history as well. -

I'm going to see if I can get one of those trees for my next door neighbor Mary. She will love it. By the way, her last name is Woodcock. Yes, I'm serious. -

Terry, in what way is Trump like George Wallace and Barry Goldwater? Tell me what you know, not what Comedy Central has fed you. Party of Lincoln? LOL, that's hilarious. I love how the left constantly throws his name around when it suits them. How their party today is supposedly like the Republican party of the 1860's. Lincoln didn't preside over the civil war to end slavery. He was as bigoted toward blacks as most were in that era. Many of his public speeches during his campaign were down right racist, noting that the blacks should all be sent back to Africa and should never intermarry with whites. Democrats should be letting people know that Republicans are the party of Martin Luther King, but that wouldn't fit in with their narrative. The Democrats have a very long and racist history that they constantly deny. One of the most beloved members of the US senate (Robert Byrd) was a leader with the KKK in the years leading up to and during WWII.

Nixon was vilified for bugging the heaquarters of the DNC, and erasing a few minutes of conversations in the oval office. Rather than denying it and putting the country through impeachment hearings he resigned. Hillary set up a private email server so her private dealings would be secured from public record, erased tens of thousands of emails when their existence became known, and knowingly passed top secret emails through this unsecured server. Oh and let's not forget the best part, she lied about it to Congress and the FBI director and attorney general who were in debt to the Clintons refused to persue charges. Unlike Hillary who has accomplished absolutely nothing as first lady, in the house, and as secretary of state, Nixon did the following as president. Domestic accomplishments of President Nixon: Launched initiatives to fight cancer and illegal drugs, imposed wage and price controls, enforced desegregation of Southern schools, and introduced legislation to reform healthcare and welfare Established the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and signed into law the Clean Air Act and National Environmental Policy Act Presided over lunar landings beginning with Apollo 11, although he eventually replaced manned space exploration with shuttle missions Foreign policy accomplishments of President Nixon: Initially escalated America's involvement in the Vietnam War, but subsequently ended US involvement by 1973 through the Paris Peace Accords Opened diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China in 1972 and ushered in a new era of Sino-American relations Initiated détente with the Soviet Union in the wake of his diplomacy with China, leading to SALT I and the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty Supported Israel during the Yom Kippur War, which led to an Israeli victory and a retaliation by Arab OPEC nations who refused to sell crude oil to the US during the 1973 oil crisis Covertly supported a military coup against Chilean Marxist president Salvador Allende So remind me again why Nixon was so much worse than Hillary.

If most democrats weren't completely blinded by hatred of anything even remotely conservative, they would see the same glaring problems with her that anybody with an 8th grade education can see. She is the most corrupt politician in our life time, and she is untouchable with a free hand to do whatever and whenever she wants. There are many people sitting in federal prison today guilty of far less than she has done time and time again with impunity.

Happy birthday Greg. I hope you had a great one.

He is the only Democrat in Washington that is truly funny. Although I don't agree with his politics, I just happen to like the guy.

So the main stream media is still buzzing over the horrible night club shooting in Florida with nearly 50 dead, but another night club shooting happened a couple days ago that is being ignored by the media. Why you ask? In this case, the shooted was stopped before he could kill anybody because there was a conceal carry permit holder in the bar who shot the criminal and stopped him from killing. Most states don't allow people with permits to carry in bars, but where this happened in South Carolina, it is legal. http://www.fox4news.com/news/u-s-world/167924304-story A South Carolina man is in jail after police say he opened fire outside a nightclub over the weekend. Spartanburg County Deputies arrested Jody Ray Thompson, 30, after they say he pulled out a gun after getting into an argument with another man outside the Playoffz nightclub early Sunday morning. Officials say Thompson fired several rounds toward a crowd that had gathered out in front of the club. "His rounds struck three victims, and almost struck a fourth victim, who in self-defense, pulled his own weapon and fired, striking Thompson in the leg," Lt. Kevin Bobo told WHNS. Bobo said the man who shot Thompson had a valid concealed weapons permit, cooperated with investigators, and won’t be facing any charges. Thompson was charged with four counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Snopes.com which is often taken by so many as the final word on whether something is true or false released a statement just hours after the incident became known. "Some might argue that the suspect's intent in the Lyman nightclub incident is irrelevant; all that matters is that a legally armed citizen was able to intervene in a shooting in progress and thereby prevent additional injury (or even loss of life). That may be true, but in the absence of additional details about the incident, what might have happened is difficult to assess." It isn't difficult to see who's agenda Snopes follows. Especially when it normally takes them weeks or months to release an opinion. As far as I'm concerned the concealed weapon holder saved lives.

Had a little extra time this week and snapped a few shots. Prairie dogs in Denver, and a Utah rainbow over a farm house. The little critters kept me entertained for a couple hours. Parked my truck on a freeway frontage road when I suddenly realized I wasn't alone, not by a long shot. There were hundreds of them. -
Well, my new job has been fun but it leaves absolutely no time to play COD2 OR any of my head admin duties with the clan. Time to step aside and give the job to somebody worthy of the job who can help Loader keep the servers running like a well oiled machine. I would like to remain a regular admin if that's ok with the rest of the admin team and will hopefully be able to play more in the near future. Thanks. LOM

I think the more important question should be, Joe, why are you hanging around public bathrooms and paying such close attention to other men unpacking their tools?

I saw Clapton about 4 years ago with my wife. Outstanding show. Not sure if it's the drugs or just loss of dexterity from old age. I know that my fingers cramp up and aren't nearly as nimble as they were 20 years ago. Any guy over 50 knows that part of a routine physical is grabbing the doctors fingers and seeing how hard you can hang onto them.

A young Scottish girl once asked a man wearing a kilt what he wore underneath it. The man replied "Only one way to find out Lassie. Stick your hand up there and tell me what you find". She slowly reach up under his kilt, then quickly pulled her hand back out and said "That's gruesome". The man then smiled and said "Aye Lassie, and if you reach up there again it will gruesome more". -
Damn, you did all that with a riding mower?
