My last full restoration, took me 3 years, came in 5 boxes, cost 4 bottles of Whisky and £4000 to restore, sold it for £3000, silly hobby I had a proper bike lift but needed it to service my other five bikes so the old workmate (Black and Decker) came in handy. Anyone in the UK doing this regularly is struggling without a lift like the Big Blue, a must for any serious work. Incidentally I made my own cables for years and there's a secret I can tell anyone interested, make a soldering pot out of an old large nut and bolt, and dip the prepared cable and nipple in it as opposed to trying to solder with a gun, perfection every time.
