960 nothing to sneeze at either and the prices are good. Also, if you watch a lot of BD's or plan to watch 4K in the future, it has hardware acceleration. 970/980 do not and rely on the cpu.

For vlc to play bluray you need to go onto their website and get the beta addon. Unless its now included or you rip them to mkv files first.

You probably dont need the big codec pack. Just get the ones that you need.

Downloading from within the game can be flaky. Always has been. Doesnt take much to mess things up.

MS didnt want to pay royalties for dvd decryption anymore on every copy of windows. Also try out media player classic. Much smaller footprint and often handles things better than vlc. vlc sometimes has problems with h265 mkvs for me but mpc handled them ok.

If your ping time to the server, on join or map change, is over 300 (I think) it will kick you. This doesnt affect players already in. Just when you start. NFO posted info about some kind of maintenance thing last night so maybe they are having issues still.

Sorry but I am highly protective of my privacy. And I dont trust them. Tin foil hat time? Since it was disclosed that MS secretly worked with the NSA... because by law they couldnt tell us before then... we have no idea what they did. If I ever do have to get win10 I will set it up so absolutely nothing private goes on it and use something else.
