  1. Could have had a flak jacket. But it does call the same functions and methods as the airstrike. Of course that one has lots of little bombs with a small blast radius not just one big one. As-is, I wonder if its too good. From watching in game it seems to get a kill %90 of the time. Pretty good ratio if you ask me.
  2. It does explode a little bit above the ground by 16 units. Basically 1-2 feet in real world terms. This helps with situations were uneven terrain might affect the blast. As for nothing happening, you mean a direct hit to the head? Are you sure it hit it? Or was it just close? Bullet traces, used for scripted hit detection, ignore players in this case (others like sentryguns do not). Unless there is some strange situation where it actually explodes inside the player body. Which would be weird to say the least. As for how it calculates whether or not a player is hit, it uses the same code as cluster bomb airstrikes. So it does check for things like whether or not the player has a ceiling or other obstacle over his head. In which case damage is reduced 4X. When things work it is best to not reinvent the wheel.
  3. On server tests all seems to work fine with car, predator, reaper and betties/claymores. And yup the nuke still works. Hehe. Maybe you were seeing the inventory faded out.
  4. Ran it in-game on the main server. Both were still there after using the cars. Will try predator in a bit. So I dont know.

  11. Going to reduce it down to 25 and see. The number should be long enough to allow people to join and also enough time to change classes if needed. I know for some half a minute might seem like watching grass grow. But considering it takes 4 times longer to make a bag of popcorn it's not a lot to ask. Hell, it took me longer to write this post.
  12. I would prefer people have to wait an extra 15 seconds (up to 30)... one time per 30 minutes... and allow more people to get in. It's not like its Black Ops or any of the newer games. Nowhere near matchmaking.

  16. I think I will let it go until tomorrow to get more feedback after more people see it. But yea its a simple change. A lot will depend on the average time it takes for people to go from the last map to the next and choose their starting class. Not including map downloads. Could also give your team a little time to decide what to do when the match starts. Assuming you want to work as a team.
  17. Ok. For the next minor update (call it 1.81) there will be a new bonus. "Wabbit Season". If you shoot a bunny hopper you get double the kill points in addition to the normal kill. So by default 10 + 20 total points. To be considered a bunny hopper it uses the standard Open Warfare anti-bunnyhopper system, for those that have seen it on other servers, but it doesnt do anything to them. Meaning no weapon disabling etc. Just monitors whether or not they are hopping around. So all you annoying hoppers have nothing to cry about. However, if the rest of you shoot like Elmer Fudd and miss dont blame me. edit: Also to clarify. The method OW chose to do is not perfect in order to keep it simple and not overly complicated.
  18. Enabled the prematch timer. How it works: There are two timers. The first waits until there is at least one player spawned on each team. Up to 60 seconds. If that requirement is satisfied the timer ends early. The second is the match start timer and waits 30 seconds. This one cannot be cancelled. 30 seconds seems to be a good compromise but if its too long or too short let me know and I can adjust it. There is no wait time in between round changes. S
  19. Yes I can mess with fire times for individual weapons. Say make it so pistols can fire no more than 6 times per second. But that would affect the ability to pull the trigger 2-3 times quickly if you are in the middle of a fight. So do you change something because a few people take advantage of it. Or do you kick them when admins see it? And then ban them if they dont learn the error of their ways?

  22. Just to clarify, the grenade launcher (M32) is not overpowered. It has the same minmax damage, falloff, range, etc as the standard grenade launcher attachment. Different reload obviously. Now if you want to say the type of weapon itself is overpowered, including the attachment in standard cod4, then everyone has the right to their opinion. If it really bothers you get a flak jacket. Its very good against explosives.
