  1. Funny video of Arnie channeling Whitney Houston, and the creator has made many more AI fakery is all the rage in the news lately of course. Should give everyone pause before believing anything they see on the internet and the media. Even legit media since they will buy into AI fakes also. Quite possible many here with investments in the market lost some money this morning because of an AI fake picture circulated in some foreign media as real. Various authorities had to respond and publicly reassure people it was fake. When one fake picture causes market losses one imagines what we will be seeing in the next two years when it comes to all the political fakes that will be made up compared to the last election. If this technology was around 6 years ago we would have seen a fully believable film of the infamous Trump 'pee video' as a so-called late October Surprise and a whole lot of people would have believed it without question. And Hillary would have been president.
  2. Is that because you dont have any fucks to give? Or is that because you dont want to give any of the fucks you have?
  3. On the subject of courts, a unanimous decision today held that tech firms cannot be held liable for the posts of its users in a specific example. In this case terrorism. The case basically asserted that Google etc were guilty of aiding and abetting. The court said otherwise. It’s a limited decision and doesn’t specifically address the political… and thus power seeking… attempts to make them responsible. That is to say, responsible for people that say things they don’t like nor want you to discuss. Since it was unanimous, including the conservative majority, will be interesting to see what the partisans say. The court sided with the ‘big tech’ republican boogeyman. Of course both complain about big tech but republicans more so. As much of a cess pool and propaganda filled mess that social media is, I wouldn’t want it to eventually go down the road of Russia, China, Iran, or any of the other usual suspects where companies like Google can be convicted of a state crime. Don’t forget Google getting into bed with the PRC’s state censorship. On the other hand a state outright banned TikTok today. National security, decided by a state not federal, and privacy. Good propaganda since it will never work. And the SC decision suggests it will never survive even a single court challenge. So this question becomes, do you want the state to decide what apps you can use? Such as politically powerful big states Texas and California? This governor and legislature under direction of their party seem to think yes they do have that power. Strictly speaking, it was signed into law as state security not national. But that term would not go over so well since it would show exactly what it is. State security over freedom.
  4. Since one side gets to compare the party they don’t like to a communist country, which in this case would be the USSR, the other side gets to compare the other to modern Russia. Far left, far right. They are both arguably true. It’s old anyways and tired of hearing their propaganda meant only to take power even though unfortunately it’s working. It’s more important to think about how the millions and millions in that country got rid of one only to be replaced by the other and what they are living with. Don’t want people to dissent? Pass a law that sends them to prison. And no real courts as a check. No appeals. A good question is which side wants to fashion the courts in their own image. The answer is both. Do we really want either side, right and left, to succeed? The parties say it’s about the law when in fact it’s about what they want as the law. Partisans want this also. However the courts were meant to be, from the beginning, a check against partisans not enablers. I suppose we can call the far left Bolshevik’s and the far right National Socialists. Wouldn’t be far from the truth. An interesting point is that who is the democrats Lenin and who is the republicans Hitler. The true believers. And both said they were on the side of ‘the people’… not including ‘them’. Each side had their own ‘them’.
  5. You are assuming younger politicians, raised on cable television and the internet, would do any better. Foolishness and zero critical thinking has no age requirement.
  6. Some people say that this whole thing is a very bad game. Best uninstalled, starting by cancelling cable. But yes, please go ahead and move.
  7. Sources? Meaning the report itself that says an election was stolen or rigged? Or, as always, was this some partisan talking head spinning the report to say exactly what he wants you to hear? Or maybe more specifically, what you yourself decided what you want to hear? Based on the FNC admission in the last settled case, how do you know that this isnt another liar that they knew was doing so but consider it newsworthy? Their words not mine. You would think they learned their extremely expensive lesson and there are two possibilities. They again knowingly put another liar on air considering it newsworthy. Or... they believe it. We the public have no way or knowing whether or not they do. Im sure their lawyers said 'keep your mouth shut'. I certainly wouldnt use some talking head on their channel, nor any of their competitors, to try and make my case.
  8. Quite useful. The next step for such a program of course is moving targets. Laterally, jumping, walking, running. Also moving the mouse + the trigger finger. How much does pressing a mouse button, and how fast/often, affect the test? Does pushing the button affect the movement curve and/or direction thus accuracy? I expect this, as a step two, will affect the results of step one. Looks to be an advanced program, with many more video demos, showing everything it can do such as the above. Downloaded and will try it out. Not that I play FPS games these days. Mostly MAME and WoW to chill out. I wonder if one of the tests is for your choice of mouse pad. Many are marketed as 'improving accuracy and sensitivity' etc. Not that most people have many laying around to have the program test. You can do it yourself of course and compare the results but a detailed analysis side by side of all the specific parameters would be helpful and show where the particular weaknesses are.
  9. Having two maps with the same name, even if they are completely different, in the end forces a server to choose between the two. Whoever made the second map, and thus chose a name already in use, might lose. So it’s a simple question all map makers must ask. Is the insistence on choosing a particular name, or simply not including a modifier, worth servers deciding not to play your map? Someone named their map mp_chinatown. Which is the name of a stock map. Introduced problems and conflicts.
  10. Looks like an album cover for a boy band.
  11. Another sign how those of our era, or a bit earlier, are further showing our mortality. And encouraging us to focus on what’s directly important to our daily personal lives while we can.
  12. Fuck no. And you're welcome. Its not even the worst. There is one called Pain Olympics. Havent seen it, nor have any desire to, but just knowing its content and what they do causes me to cringe and clamp my legs together. Just shows how truly sick people are. This incident is not shocking at all. edit: If 2G1C can make a group of Marines near puking it says a lot.
  13. No you can still get a free win7 to 10 upgrade on your current system. Now, if it said win 7 AND 10, then I would question whether or not to call shenanigans between Steam and Microsoft.
  14. Since you asked how depraved can you get... These guys dont know the meaning of 'shocked'. Not after watching, back in the naivety of the internet back in the late 2000's, for example the video 2 girls 1 cup. And compared to what is supposedly around today, that video is tame. Not even including, as happened a month ago, someone live streaming... and people watching... mass murder. Who knows what kind of sick stuff gets live streamed that nobody knows about. Or perhaps better said, dont want to know about. Considering that kind of shit, this article and what this guy did is quaint. Even so, it just shows how a supposedly highly intelligent species is better off dead.
  15. Hey all. Just asking opinions for good PC laptop brands say in the $1500 range. In addition to the usual specs, there is reliability, ease of use (things like keyboard design ), heat, noise. Impossible to have everything. But options are always good.
  16. I don’t care who you are that’s funny. Then again, have done such things myself plenty of times.
  17. Another name: Flying Dutchman. If you suddenly disappear from the forums, we'll email your folks.
  18. The Davy Jones. A little embarrassed to say I thought that said ‘strippers’. And I was like ‘huh’? Hunting for strippers? That’s what I get for trying to read on an iPhone without glasses. Although, ‘Strippers On A Boat’ might make for a good movie. Think they could get Sam Jackson again?
  19. Oh they get it wrong believe me. Which is why there are tax attorneys that know how to play the game and get the irs to cave. Without admitting being wrong of course. Perhaps that’s the bigger joke.
  20. There is also one that all freshmen politicians are sent to a 3 week retreat to become fluent in speaking in tongues.
  21. There is a conspiracy theory that Trumps hair is it’s own unique life form sent from Alpha Centauri.
  22. I guess it’s true. Those with the he most money tend to win.
  23. The questionnaire Forgot to ask him what in his life trained him how to deal with the extreme drama seen here for all this time and didn’t drive him completely batty.
