Politicized by both sides remember. Glass houses and all of that. And it was (and still is) a ‘global’ supply chain problem. Not just here. Unless you think the government here is in control of, say, all of China and not the communists. I suspect they might differ on that.

I would hardly call it being in power for all those years. Depending on how you want to define it I suppose. Various people like to say (positive and negative) that the democrats are 'in power' in DC. The truth is never that simple. But it makes for a good campaign and media talking point. There is no secret about the state of things and why they exist. Its how politics works. Everybody wants what they see as 'problems' sorted out. So long as it is done in the way they want. And of course so long as they dont have to pay for it (get others to pay), dont have to help do it, and its done in what they decide is a timely manner. Thats fine. Just dont try and shift responsibility for the results, or lack thereof, onto others when it doesnt work. Happens all the time in history, because the human species is populated by morons from top to bottom, and America is not immune. I dont know when, but at some point Republicans threw independents like myself (and I am, despite what some others are told to think) to the curb and labeled us as lefties. As for why? And its an opinion. Independents generally dont give money to politicians or their PACs. I dont. But I have a vote. However then there is another person. A partisan but not a voter (among that %50 of the country that doesnt vote) that has an unused vote but gives campaign money. Would a politician... I dont care which side... prefer to work to get my vote (knowing thats all they are going to get) or would they try to get the partisan vote AND their money? And with that in mind, what will they say and do (or prevent to ensure the other side loses) in order to try and appeal to that person? I used to do the $1 thing on my taxes to help fund political campaigns to encourage at least a little bit of fairness or other non-partisan voices that dont have the big money. Figured it was my duty as an American. But after spending limits were thrown in the trash I stopped. Thanks Republicans. You got what you wanted and the money. And in time the Democrats learned to beat you at your own game. I wonder if those that tried to keep them were secretly happy that they lost. Both sides spend several billion dollars every 2-4 years. All in order to flood what you see, read, and hear in order control what you think. Everyone can shut it all off at any time. Protect yourself from the attempts at control so you can have time to think. But they dont. Based on everything around us I suppose those in control have won. A long post. But at times, various things need to be said instead of punch lines.

Of course being a big state, with a big population, its going to have an outsized amount of homeless compared to the aforementioned Wyoming. Moreso because of the climate as well. Regardless of which party here is in power. They didnt all suddenly pop up within the last couple years. Been in this state all my life, seen governors and legislatures come and go, and none of them could (or would?) tackle the problem in any meaningful way. Just a lot of platitudes, friendly media interviews, and photo ops. Its convenient, and perhaps feel-good, to try and put the blame on the political party you dont like even though the party you do like is just as responsible. A lot of 'yes but' arguments.

I'm offended by this post.

How much did it cost this time>

Just for info, as in all the CoD versions that have it, the default for a tac nuke is 25. Not 15.
-
If tacnukes were easy to get every round would end with one. It would be a total contest to see who could get one first. It would likely change the game where aggressiveness skyrockets and the goal is to go after and freeze the other team (by both sides) before that happens. So more time would be spent pushing hard to freeze everyone ASAP over defrosting your own team. Small tweaks affecting just one setting have a tendency to cascade over the whole game like that. It always comes down to the question of what is good for you vs what is good for the game.
-
I'm sure that made someone pretty unhappy. Any game that doesnt make you unhappy at times is a boring game. And the more unpredictable chaos the better it is.

The Kings Speech won best picture that year. It was admittedly the best choice when it came to drama and acting. But Inception was the better overall movie and much more difficult to make. Just perhaps a little too complicated for some to follow. Just saw Dunkirk, which did the same thing with three different time lengths and perspectives. And also how all three interacted with each other at different points in their respective timelines, so to speak. I didnt expect that and it was quite well done.

Good luck getting one.

CHEATERS Walleye Tournament
Sammy replied to WeednFeed's topic in Hunting, Shooting, Fishing, Boating
In that case though, unlike the vid above, it is the loser making the accusation with no proof to back it up. His 'evidence' is his own idea of a pattern. Also some supposed statement that we are supposed to take his word for it. Its called gambling for a reason. You might make the wrong choice no matter what you do. No different that people here calling others hacker or cheaters as well because they got shot and dont know how. -
CHEATERS Walleye Tournament
Sammy replied to WeednFeed's topic in Hunting, Shooting, Fishing, Boating
I guess the stupidest part is how people dont understand that when they get caught, often on camera, the whole world can know about it the next day. Especially in their respective communities or fellowships. As for all that past money, I doubt any of it will be returned because it is impossible to prove that any of it was gained via cheating. Still, it does mean whatever this guy does ever again in the future will be scrutinized. From his jacket it looks like perhaps he was getting money from advertising. I wonder if they could sue. -
Well where would you recommend a location with 3 acres that is neither democrat nor republican? I can think of no better place than one where I don’t have to deal with either.

How Many Graphics Cards to Stop a .50 Cal?
Sammy replied to YACCster's topic in Jokes and Misc stuff
"No graphics cards were harmed in this production" All sfx these days. -
This is true. If it was all about work. But do you choose your location based on work? Or do you base it on where you want to live for everything else in your life. Tough question. Many people love the bay area even with all its flaws for the location. Me not so much. But I dont venture around much when I probably should. Never been to Napa for example to at least take a day drive and check it out. But SF the city, been there done that and dont enjoy it as much as others do. Too many people are too aggressive especially when they dont get every little thing they want. I mean seriously who in their right mind argues and calls women a bitch because they dont get the kind of $1 piece of chicken they demand when all the signs and such explicitly say no? And dont give up, spending 10 minutes farting around over it? My time is worth more than a $1 piece of chicken. That or a thief that gets caught stealing food, the most expensive stuff also, actually tries to tell the cops 'I have kids to feed'. Or how about some guy in a $40k SUV stealing an $8 custom made sandwich? Oh and its not 'ethnicity' related either, despite cable news fuckers, and I have seen all of them do it. One white dude was straight out of a department store catalog that modeled shorts. Or some guy with an expensive mid-size car steals a piece of pie and waves to employees on the way out to basically laugh and say 'fuck you'. Im sure its the same in every big metropolis but I hear that here its particularly bad. More so because, unlike many others, its unusually expensive to live here and there is a lot of money floating around. A lot of people put up with that for what they see as the good parts due to the location. So they move here anyway. But it makes me want to move up to the mountains miles away from anyone else. But I cant do that. I do need stuff like medical services relatively close.

Not too much or you risk an "oooops, didnt mean to do that"

I could replace all my kitchen appliances for what that would likely cost.

At one time, a few places east of that area seemed a good option. Or maybe it was east of Santa Barbara. Newer housing developments I imagine. I remember there were the expected concerns about wildfires. Long term issue for socal of course will be water. Seems their biggest supply sources are drying up.

Had a good size corner desk years ago. Which I wish I still had. But I do like being able to look out a window while working on my computer. Back then the corner desk was paired up with corner windows.

Hey Any recommendations on 60" computer desks? Just the tabletop and legs. Got my actual nice oak desk that I would like to use again as a bonafide one again not a cramped computer space. As they say you get what you pay for and I do prefer things that are sturdy as well as nice looking. For example I suppose this one is sturdy, I would hope considering the price, but really quite a lot more than I would want to shell out. For this kind of money I could get a brand new dishwasher. https://store.steelcase.com/desks-tables/sit-to-stand-desks/solo-sit-to-stand-desk This one seems to get good reviews and its pretty inexpensive. But is it sturdy enough and will it hold up to abuse. Not that I am going to take a sledgehammer to it. https://www.amazon.com/Homall-Gaming-Computer-Worksation-Adjustable/dp/B08NWBL97Q
