  1. Well, we can all hope things will ease when the bitcoin craze wears thin after it crashes. Nothing is immune to such things. I suspect the gaming industry isnt too happy either. All those high end games need high end cards. When nobody can afford them the developers get to hear how their games suck because of frame rate blah blah blah. They dont like that. I need to get a new card one of these days but not at those prices.

  3. Ugh. Its always something. I guess the real question is whether or not its something that can be fixed in the next gen cpus themselves. Or if they will. Sounds so fundamental that maybe they cant. Always curious to know who first discovered the problem and how. Was it something they were specifically looking for? Were they tipped off?

  5. Yes automatic. However keep in mind that if you delete your player profile for this mod/servername, or reinstall without backing up your profile, you start at 0 time played.

  7. Because, as you said, they are regulars and you are not. So they have priority (based solely on how long you have played on the server, not including spectating) among non-clan members. Only way to change that is to play more. Perhaps when its not %100 full.

  9. I guess minecraft. Havent played it myself but its supposed to be simple, easy to play, and you dont have to think about it. But gotta deal with hackers. I have $50 myself I put in but havent used it yet. Might get battlegrounds one of these days. However if you want action it seems to be %99.9 searching and looting and %0.1 fighting. I suppose like dayz but without zombies. Vids on youtube.
  10. Did really last all that long. Perhaps too many players didnt like that you cant make a kill by shooting off a foot.

  12. On the former TRNY2 server. Also on the front page. Played for a short while and IMO its better than freezetag. But then again I am tired of freezetag. However if there are ideas for TDM that encourages more team play let me know.
  13. For info, after talking to Rugger two things. Because there are going to be potentially a lot more streaks the '1 less kill' part of hardline has been disabled. The initial request was to somehow make it harder to get the car but the kill requirements are hard coded. Reroll still works however. The other is that the red triangles for air support are disabled. That is because the mod was never tested with more than 32 players and that was the recommended max. Partly due to freezetag limitations. There is a finite limit on the number of hud icons allowed at any one time and I could not guarantee the target markers wouldnt cause problems with 24 enemies instead of the usual 16 max. In the future I will do more testing with 48 players, and more items like more care packages and mines (hacker 'skull' icons), and if need be rewrite things to force a hard limit of 16 on the markers. It would sort itself in real-time to choose the top 16 players on that team to represent the enemies with the greatest threat factors. Helicopters work on the same principle. One thing I am interested in. Since the car has no need to defrost it will in-effect be the 'kill-only' car in 147. Gameplay will show how that works. If its currently too much of an automatic kill.

  17. Then its up to admins to kick spectating XI members. And often they do. Anyways, the more you play.... ahem... the more of a regular you become and less likely to be kicked. That is fair, isnt it?

  19. If I didnt like you I wouldnt at this moment be modding. Lets see. This afternoon, added graphic elements so that when you mouse over the 10 custom class options you see the individual loadout icons at a glance without having to select it first. Will be to the left of the character images.
  20. Why? Its no different than whether or not you should be protected while reloading or changing weapons. As it is, you should be grateful that the standard setting of you standing there (as the stock game) while driving the car is disabled so that you are invisible. I suppose its true. Give an inch and they will demand a mile.
  21. Yes it will be changed. As always using them both over time will determine if their individual settings need to be adjusted. Since one is basically defenseless it has to be fair and not easy to destroy. The other, since its %100 in attack mode, should also be fair but not an automatic kill. Been a couple discussions about it and not just something I thought up for the hell of it. Some will like it some will not. Same with the contact nade, rocket gun & defroster crossbow (2 rounds).

  24. Thats known as having your cake and eating it too. Strictly speaking, imo as-is it is overpowered for this gametype. Part of it is because its speed is double the default. That is to allow for defrosting teammates that are spread out. However for kill-only thats too fast. So the defroster car will remain fast and somewhat quieter than it is now. The killer car will match the stock games. Also matches the two sentryguns. Minigun or defroster. Since the killer car will be slower and easier to shoot I will likely bump up its health.
  25. Voting like that is a bad idea. Opens up problems of voting down people for non-legit reasons for example. Maybe to go along with the crowd. Maybe simply to be a dick (we have our fair share). And then do you want a player that has been there a couple days to have the same vote as an admin. Admins or moderators are the only way to handle it fairly. Doing it that way also includes accountability for decisions as opposed to faceless voters with none. As for total defrosts etc etc. Thats not fair to those that play as good team members but tend to get frozen a lot. Then you have to figure out weight between time unfrozen and number of defrosts to try and make that fair. Then snipers vs campers vs run and gunners. Next add the map design with weekly rotations and how that affects it all. And then, everyone has their own idea of what a fair weight would be. Been there. Done that. Bought the t-shirt. Never worked fairly and not going back. Besides, I would much rather spend my time trying to figure out a way for players to create and save custom class names. The method itself isnt difficult. Just a matter if I can make the menu code fit without it going bonkers.
