The sad fact is that by the time you order a new component and it arrives, it's already out of date. In the electronics industry, when a new product is developed, it has to be so advanced that it will be cutting edge technology 2 years after it's developed. It takes that long to be put into production and be sold. In some instances, there is already a "New and Improved" version sitting on the shelf, before the original is even let out to the public.

When I was really young, I wanted to be a truck driver. See the country from coast to coast. At times, I've wanted to be a song writer, I have notebooks full of them that I've written over the years, starting about 20 years ago, when I was about 10. I need to keep my mind active, so I guess my current job is perfect for me, even though it's not always what I want to do. I polish optics, and the variations in radius of spherical surfaces, and types of glass, make it a constant battle.

Just by looking at what you posted, and not looking into the details of each thing for compatibility issues, the only thing I see that I would change is the Power Supply. i would advise a larger wattage. 600watts just seems minimal to me. I always like to give the system plenty more than it requires, it keeps it from working so hard all the time.

I've done my share of vidieos like that for various things. I know very well how much time that took to put all that together. Great job.

I have to go against the top fan as intake. Heat naturally rises, and keeping it as an exhaust fan make more sense. But I do agree with turning the CPU fan so it pulls from front, and pushes out the back. And also using MSI Afterburner. My GTX560ti runs moderately warm, but I had noticed that the drivers were not turning the fan speeds up as temp increased. I have mine set to start raising fast, I can play all day long and temps stay under 135F, usually around 120F, but when in ICE bubble in freeze tag, the glow makes it heat up a little more. Just having afterburner control the fans, lowered my temps nearly 50F ingame. My temps had gone up after I had installed a second monitor. With just a single monitor there were no issues. And I have a very similar coolermaster case.

i just did mine back in april or so, and let the game place everything itself, but I did install on a different drive from the OS. I have no issues. my downloading problem appeared to be the setting in my .cfg file. once I found the sweet spot there, it goes nearly 1mb all the time now.

try changing the maxpackets to something like 60. I will look when I get back home at the other stuff I changed on mine, but it made a very significant difference the other day when I tried it. I went from less than 100kbp, to over 1mb for map downloads. those setting have to match up with other things for it to work, from the way I read it.

Do you still have the old machine up and running where you could verify the problem is only on the new machine, and not just a new problem in general? Also, if you have any plug in ethernet cards, just try another card. It's possible that drivers aren't the problem, and simply a defective onboard NIC. And to be quite honest, if it makes you feel any better, my download speeds from the redirect within the game do the same thing from time to time, and right now is one of those times for me. I usually can download through the game at well over 1mb, but the last few days, I can not get any better then 150kb, and it's not a problem on my end. Next time I have to download it may be well over 1mb again. It's the same for all computers I use. Just throwin out some more possibilities.

I love it when I have time to play. I come here to the XI servers and forums for the friends and the break from all the BS life throws at me. I've made many friends here, family in the way we call it. I don't get out much, not for any reason other than I just don't. I'm able, but the only place I really ever go is to work. I come here becuase the people make it enjoyable majority of the time. And though many of us have never met face to face, and many we never will, the bonds are awesome. And cause all the MODs kick ass.
