this is awesome that you guys are providing help.  i have a 2008 mailbu with 2.2L that i need to replace the radiator on.  i took a look at it and i see the tranny cool lines look to have some type of quick connect on it.  will i need a special tool to disconnect this (like i have seen on ford)?

thanks

thanks danko.  i pulled back that plastic piece and saw the ring.  just gotta make sure it doesnt go flying when i pop it off.  one more question.  looks like i have to take off the front grille to get the radiator out.  does that sound right?  looks like it is held in by screws on the top and 2 plastic tabs on each side.

be sure your battery is unhooked  I know that sound so easy  you just forget to do it sometimes. your working around impact sensors and if hit hard enough could trigger your airbags.  just a reminder

it is a classic.  guess 2008 they made 2 versions.  2.2L LS.  dont think i am gonna do it myself now.  large pc of ice fell off a semi and my daughter ran over it.  thought just the radiator was damaged and it wouldnt meet dedictible.  after further inspection it looks like there is more damage than i thought.  thanks everyone for the input.  if it isnt too much hassle, could u post the instructions anyway bud?  if its a long type, dont worry about it.  if you need the code, i can go look it up.

took the car in for an estimate.  radiator, condenser, fan module and splash shield all damaged and need to be replaced. they also found a cylinder head gasket leak (covered by warranty).  gonna file insurance claim now based on the cost of all the parts.  thanks for everyone's input.
