I have had more expensive headsets , however I now play with a $20.00 cyber acoustic headset mic combo from office depot which so far has delivered good sound quality and clear voice communication.

I have gone back and forth from really good headsets to cheapo headsets. I have settled the matter with inexpensive logitech type headsets. They usually last a year or so, and when they die..20 bucks buys a new one. I myself am not looking for great BOSE type audio from a gaming headset. I want to be able to hear good and talk. My favorite so far has been logitech. If you want to spend a little extra, you can get the wireless version..but it pushes the price up around 70 bucks.

I use a $29.99 Logitech I bought from that fancy southern French store - Target (pronounced tarjey - LOL). The sound is great and I guess the mic is good as no one complains (hmmm, maybe it doesnt even work)

The only thing was that I bought one that was "Skype certified" as I need it for traveling and keeping international phone bills low. I dont know how much credibility that sticker has but it seems to be ok.

I went with the YSB connection rather than the rca jack type. You have to do a little bit of set up, but even a puter idiot like me only took a few minutes to figure out why sound was still coming out of my speakers when I plugged my headset in.!!!

What's the best gaming headset? - That's a tough question - there are so many choices available it boggles the mindTongue out

For what it's worth, I have been using the Microsoft LifeChat for about a year now and think it's the best headset I've ever had for $25 bucks!

im with reload. I had a logitech but it quickly succumbed to the chinese disease. I spent the doe on a creative fatality. Sounds is awesome....especially for music as much as gaming. Not to mention that the mic plugs in and is detachable. I think the rotating mic on the headset may eventually be more prone to breakage like on the logitech. I also bought it cuz i didnt have to shell out any cash. Charge that bastard at best buy...69.95 plus tax.

I loved my plantronics game com pro 1 till the cord shorted out had it 2 yrs now i got a cheap logitech for 30 bux and kills my ears after an hr but maybe my mule ears to big for these. And also my thought is the surround sound is it really that good in a small place not like having external speakers in alll corners of your room?
