I have settled the matter with inexpensive logitech type headsets. They usually last a year or so, and when they die..20 bucks buys a new one. I myself am not looking for great BOSE type audio from a gaming headset. I want to be able to hear good and talk. My favorite so far has been logitech. If you want to spend a little extra, you can get the wireless version..but it pushes the price up around 70 bucks. Awards

The sound is great and I guess the mic is good as no one complains (hmmm, maybe it doesnt even work) The only thing was that I bought one that was "Skype certified" as I need it for traveling and keeping international phone bills low. I dont know how much credibility that sticker has but it seems to be ok. I went with the YSB connection rather than the rca jack type. You have to do a little bit of set up, but even a puter idiot like me only took a few minutes to figure out why sound was still coming out of my speakers when I plugged my headset in.!!! Awards

I had a logitech but it quickly succumbed to the chinese disease. I spent the doe on a creative fatality. Sounds is awesome....especially for music as much as gaming. Not to mention that the mic plugs in and is detachable. I think the rotating mic on the headset may eventually be more prone to breakage like on the logitech. I also bought it cuz i didnt have to shell out any cash. Charge that bastard at best buy...69.95 plus tax. Awards
